Actor Park Bo-gum made a surprise appearance at Lee Seung-cheol's 40th debut anniversary concert on the 1st, stepping onto the stage at Inspire Arena in Incheon to perform with the veteran singer during the first part of the show. It was the kind of moment that made sense in retrospect: the two have built a quiet, consistent friendship over the past five years.

Park Bo-gum sat at the piano and performed Naega Mani Saranghaeyo ("I Love You So Much") alongside Lee Seung-cheol, a song that also marks the starting point of their connection. The two first worked together when Park appeared in the music video for that track, released in January 2020. They have since shared screens on KBS 2TV's Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook in 2020 and again on The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile earlier this year.

The concert itself sits within a KBS special series that has previously spotlighted Na Hoon-a in 2020 and Cho Yong-pil in 2025, a format the broadcaster uses to document the careers of major figures in Korean popular music. All seats were free of charge, and a broadcast of the performance is scheduled to air on KBS 2TV during the Chuseok holiday period.

The same day brought separate news about Park Bo-gum. Rapper Shin, a member of hip-hop duo Jinusean, posted on social media that Park had donated 10 million won to an ALS care facility on his birthday, June 16. Shin noted it was not the first time Park had made such a contribution, though he did not specify how many times the actor has donated to the cause.
