Bang Chan Turns His Birthday Into a Giving Record, 500M Won in 2026
Stray Kids' Bang Chan marked his birthday by donating 300 million won to three organizations covering hearing healthcare, youth scholarships, and ocean cleanup. The gifts bring his total 2026 donations to 500 million won.

Stray Kids' Bang Chan marked his birthday by donating 100 million won each to three organizations: HearCycle, World Vision Korea, and the East Asian Seas Community OSEAN, totaling 300 million won in a single day.
The funds are earmarked for specific programs at each recipient. HearCycle will use its share to cover medical costs for young adults with hearing loss and support their reintegration into daily life. World Vision Korea will direct its allocation to dream scholarship programs and tailored growth support for children and teenagers from low-income and vulnerable households. OSEAN's portion funds coastal cleanup operations, marine debris collection, and river restoration projects.
Through JYP Entertainment, Bang Chan said: "It is meaningful to be able to share even a small part of my heart across the many areas that need a helping hand, from children's dreams to the environment we all live in. I hope my sincerity reaches the places that need it most, so we can all dream of a better tomorrow together."

A giving record that keeps growing
The birthday donations are the latest chapter in a giving record that has built steadily through 2026. In September, Bang Chan donated 100 million won to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital to support the construction of a specialized rehabilitation center, and another 100 million won to UNICEF Korea for flood disaster relief in Nepal. Those two gifts, combined with today's 300 million won, put his cumulative 2026 total at 500 million won.
His birthday giving goes back further. On his 2025 birthday he donated 100 million won to Samsung Seoul Hospital for pediatric patient treatment costs and another 100 million won to UNICEF Korea for global children's support. In 2024, a 100 million won donation to the Community Chest of Korea's Love Your Neighbor campaign earned him membership in the Honor Society, the organization's high-value donor recognition group.
Last year he also joined his Stray Kids bandmates in donating to disaster relief efforts, contributing to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association and World Vision Korea following wildfires in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions, and to Hong Kong World Vision after a fire in the city.
The songwriter behind the story
Bang Chan is also one of K-pop's most prolific credited composers. According to the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), he holds rights to 245 songs, the highest count among K-pop idols on their register. He leads 3RACHA, Stray Kids' in-house producing unit, alongside members Changbin and Han.
The donations coincide with a strong stretch on the road for Stray Kids. Their festival STRAYCITY, which wrapped its Latin American leg on September 25 and 26 at venues in Mexico City, drew a combined 270,000 attendees across five shows in three cities. The numbers make the case that the group's global reach is only widening, which gives Bang Chan's consistent philanthropy an added visibility it might not have carried a few years ago. Circle the date on the 500 million won milestone: for a 29-year-old still in the middle of a group's active run, the ceiling here is worth watching.
