From Cheongdam-dong to Kaohsiung: TWICE's Real Estate Portfolio Now Spans Two Countries

Nayeon recently completed the ownership transfer on a building and land in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, purchased for 9.5 billion KRW, the single largest known real estate transaction among TWICE members and one that signals just how far the group's financial footprint has grown in their 11th year since debut.

The deal, contracted in May, brings Nayeon's confirmed property spending above 13.4 billion KRW after her 2024 purchase of a unit at Brighton N40, a high-end residential complex in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, for approximately 3.94 billion KRW. Both neighborhoods sit in the most sought-after corridors of Seoul's Gangnam district, which makes the back-to-back acquisitions notable even by the standards of top-tier entertainers.

Jihyo's Seongsu-dong play

Leader Jihyo moved earlier, buying a neighborhood commercial building in Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seongdong-gu in March 2024 for 40 billion KRW. Property records show no mortgage was registered, raising the possibility that she paid in full without borrowing. A month after closing, she registered as a residential rental business operator and completed a private rental housing registration on the property.

The Seongsu location adds an extra layer of strategic interest. The building falls within Zone 2 of Seoul's Seongsu Strategic Maintenance District, a redevelopment plan the city is actively pursuing. Analysts have noted that this makes the purchase look less like a passive rental income play and more like a long-term bet on redevelopment upside. The building sits near Seongsu Station and along a main road, two factors that consistently command premiums in Seoul's commercial property market.

Momo and Tzuyu round out the picture

Momo's purchase came last year: Arcadia Signature, a luxury villa in Achiul Village, Guri, Gyeonggi Province, acquired for 4.27 billion KRW. As with Jihyo's transaction, no mortgage appears in the registry, fueling speculation about a full cash payment. Achiul Village has developed a reputation as a residential address for entertainers and high-net-worth buyers, partly because it combines a quieter living environment with reasonable access to central Seoul.

Tzuyu, meanwhile, went home. According to Taiwanese outlet TVBS, she purchased a penthouse in Kaohsiung, her hometown, during the Lunar New Year holiday in January. The unit is inside the Xionggang Xinyi Fine Arts Museum building in Gushan District and reportedly carries a price tag of around 100 million New Taiwan dollars, roughly 4.1 billion KRW. The penthouse features a private pool and spa room and is furnished with sculptures and original paintings. One detail that caught attention locally: a medical and aesthetics clinic co-invested in by Tzuyu's mother is located directly across from the building, suggesting the choice may have had a family convenience dimension beyond pure investment.

What the numbers reflect

Put together, the four members' confirmed purchases total well above 25 billion KRW, a figure that reflects both the group's sustained commercial output and the decade-plus runway they have had to build capital. TWICE debuted in 2015 through JYP Entertainment's survival program Sixteen and went on to place a long string of hit singles across Korean and Japanese markets while maintaining an active world tour schedule. That longevity, rare for any idol group, translates directly into the kind of earnings base required for property at this scale.

The group is currently in discussions with JYP Entertainment over a second contract renewal. Members Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung have formalized individual activities outside the group, and the emerging structure appears to involve group promotions continuing under JYP while members pursue solo paths through their own arrangements. How that balance holds will shape TWICE's next chapter, but these property moves suggest the members are already thinking well beyond the current contract cycle.
