TWICE's Contract Chaos Gets Messier: Nayeon's Mother Drops a Loaded Message
With TWICE's contract renewals still unresolved, Nayeon's mother has drawn attention after posting that the group deserves 'proper treatment', a comment fans are reading as pointed, given the timing. JYP Entertainment has confirmed negotiations are ongoing but offered no further details.

Nayeon's mother didn't say much. She didn't have to.
As TWICE's contract renewal talks with JYP Entertainment drag on with no resolution in sight, a social media post from Nayeon's mom has fans and reporters doing close reads. She attended the Seoul encore of TWICE's THIS IS FOR world tour and posted photos from the show, including one with Nayeon. The caption was the thing: "11 years as TWICE, over 20 years including trainee days. You poured your entire youth into your dream at this place, it's not strange that seeing what you've all accomplished brings me to tears."

Then came the line everyone screenshot. "Wonderful TWICE. ONCE approves, the parents approve. It's time they get proper treatment. 9TWICE deserves it."
The phrasing landed hard because of the context. JYP confirmed to Korean media that the members are currently in a contract discussion period and will announce decisions once they are finalized. Against that backdrop, "proper treatment" reads less like a proud parent venting emotion and more like a message.
The speculation around TWICE's future has been building for weeks. Reporting from multiple Korean outlets has suggested leader Jihyo is leaving JYP, with Tzuyu and Chaeyoung also linked to potential moves. Jeongyeon drew attention after it emerged she met with Baro Entertainment, the agency run by her sister, actress Kong Seung-yeon. The rumor mill has been running at full capacity.

Nayeon herself hasn't tipped her hand on where she'll land. But on the 15th, she posted her own tour reflection, writing that she started with "half fear, half excitement" and that she felt endlessly lacking throughout, crediting ONCE's expressions and cheers, along with the crew behind the stage, for getting her through it. In the comments, she added: "Let's meet again looking even more amazing, us."
That comment is also getting attention. It's vague enough to mean nothing and specific enough to mean something.

JYP hasn't moved beyond its holding statement, which tracks. The agency has been careful with every public-facing statement on TWICE's situation this year. Whether Nayeon's mother intended her post as a negotiating signal, a proud parent's relief after a 20-year journey, or both at once, is genuinely unclear. What's clear is that with this much at stake, every post from every family member is getting the forensic treatment now.
