JYP Entertainment confirmed Wednesday that TWICE's Nayeon is preparing a solo album for late November, her first in nearly two and a half years. The catch: nobody will put a date on it.

An industry source told The Korea Herald the comeback is slated for the third week of November, then immediately hedged. Idol schedules shift often, the source said, so the exact day is still uncertain. A JYP Entertainment official was just as careful, saying Nayeon is preparing "with that timeframe in mind."

That's a confirmation with an escape hatch. The month is firm. The day is not.

What we know, and what we don't

The last proper solo release was her second EP, Na, in June 2024. In May this year she put out "Love Is Enough," a soundtrack single for the Korean drama Sold Out on You, but that was a single, not an album.

The tracklist, the lead single and the format haven't been announced. JYP has not said anything beyond the timeframe.

The bar she set herself

Nayeon was the first TWICE member to go solo, debuting in June 2022 with the EP Im Nayeon. Led by "Pop!," it debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, making her the first K-pop solo artist to enter the chart's top 10.

Na, led by "ABCD," landed at No. 7 again in 2024. That made her the first female K-pop soloist with two albums in the top 10.

So the November release comes with a clear benchmark attached, whether JYP wants to talk about it or not. A third top-10 debut would extend a record she already holds. Anything lower will get compared to it anyway.
