A clip from WJSN member Dayoung's Hanyang University festival set is circulating online, and the debate it kicked off has been running for days.

During her performance on the 2nd, Dayoung invited a male audience member onstage and had him sit in a chair. She then sat beside him, put her arm around his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her waist. His hand made contact with her bare stomach, since she was wearing a crop top, and the moment was caught clearly on video. The two ended the segment with a hug.

Eyewitnesses at the show claim the crowd's mood shifted the instant his hand touched her skin. According to accounts posted online, some audience members held up their hands in an X-shape, a common Korean gesture signaling disapproval.

What people are arguing about

The clip spread across social media on the 3rd and 4th, and the responses split pretty cleanly into two camps.

Critics called the physical contact excessive, with comments like "why is his hand there" and "does she really need to go that far at a college festival." Some suggested Dayoung herself may have been caught off guard by where the audience member's hand landed. Others said her fans would be hurt by the footage.

Defenders pushed back just as hard. "It's clearly a pre-arranged performance," one commenter wrote, while others argued the backlash was overblown for what amounted to a standard fan-service segment. Several noted that Dayoung also approached a female audience member during the same show, putting her arm around that person's shoulder in a similar way, though that interaction drew far less attention.

Dayoung has not addressed the situation publicly, and no statement has come from her label.
