Yoon Sun-woo and Kim Ga-eun's Real-Life Romance Traced Back to One Kiss Scene a KBS Director Will Never Forget

Back in 2014, a then-assistant director named Choi Yun-seok called action on a kiss scene between two young actors for the KBS daily drama Ilpyeondansim Mindeullae, and apparently had no idea he was setting a real love story in motion.

On the 4th, Choi, now a full director at KBS, posted a photo with actors Yoon Sun-woo and Kim Ga-eun alongside a caption that quickly caught the attention of fans. "These two were the first kiss scene I ever directed," he wrote, "and they ended up getting married." The post carried an unmistakable warmth, the kind only someone who watched something unfold from the very beginning can really express.

Choi added that the three of them had spent a full six hours together chatting. "Every time I see this couple I feel so proud, and they're just so adorable," he wrote. "They bicker a little but they take such good care of each other. They're a couple that's just lovely to be around."

The comment section turned into its own small reunion. Yoon Sun-woo replied directly with "It was so much fun," and Choi shot back: "Next time I'll cook for you, or get yourselves to invite me over." Kim Ga-eun jumped in with "That sounds wonderful," and the whole exchange had the easy, unhurried energy of people who genuinely like each other.

Yoon Sun-woo and Kim Ga-eun first crossed paths on Ilpyeondansim Mindeullae, the KBS TV serial where Choi was working as an assistant director at the time. After years of dating, the two married in October of last year.

Yoon debuted in 2003 through the EBS drama Hwangyeongjeonsa Zentaforce and has since built a steady career with leading roles in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Please Come Back Mister, Day and Night, and The First Man. Kim Ga-eun entered the industry as part of SBS's 11th open talent recruitment in 2009, appearing in Style before taking on roles in Because This Is My First Life, The Wind Blows, Nobody Knows, and more recently King the Land.
