Ahn Eun-jin Drops a Six-Month Confession That Leaves Seo Kang-jun Speechless

Ahn Eun-jin's character did not ease into her debut on Any Love But Yours. In the premiere of KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday miniseries, her character Lee Mi-do blurts out at a family dinner table that she and her long-term boyfriend have not been intimate in over six months, cutting off her mother's pregnancy suspicion before it could take root. The line landed like a grenade, leaving co-star Seo Kang-jun's character visibly at a loss.

The scene is a fair indicator of what the show is going for: a ten-year relationship that has grown so comfortable it has quietly stopped functioning, and two people who have not yet admitted that to each other.

The dinner that forces the question

The episode's central set piece is a meal shared by Mi-do, her boyfriend Nam-gung Ho (Seo Kang-jun), and her mother Ma Suk-hee (Kim Mi-kyung), who does not do gentle nudging. Suk-hee puts the question to the table directly: the couple should decide, right now, whether they are getting married or breaking up.

Mi-do's older brother Lee Yeong-do (Kim Nam-hee) sides with Nam-gung Ho, pointing out that the boyfriend holds a stable corporate job with strong benefits and asking, not entirely kindly, what Mi-do brings to the equation. Her younger brother Lee Wan-do (Lee Min-jae) echoes the sentiment, saying he does not want to see his "second older brother" Nam-gung Ho end up unhappy. Suk-hee herself had previously extracted a promise from Mi-do: become a film director, then marriage. She sets a new deadline of six months.

Nam-gung Ho tries to deflect, mentioning that Mi-do's shoot has been delayed. Suk-hee swats that aside: if things go well, that's an excuse; if things go badly, that's also an excuse. The family pressure is unanimous and relentless.

The line that derails everything

When Mi-do asks for antacid, Nam-gung Ho notices she's been getting indigestion often and asks if she's all right. Her mother connects the dots in the wrong direction, beginning a pointed "Are you perhaps..." Mi-do cuts her off before the word is out. "No. Not even close. We haven't done it in over six months."

The specificity of the number is what makes the moment land. It is not a denial; it is an accounting, delivered at a dinner table with family present, and Seo Kang-jun's reaction suggests Nam-gung Ho was not expecting his girlfriend to disclose their private life quite so precisely.

The exchange also does efficient expository work. The show's premise, a couple navigating unfamiliar emotional territory after a decade together, gets its clearest early evidence not through a breakup or a fight, but through a throwaway confession about indigestion and a six-month gap that nobody at the table was supposed to know about.
