BABYMONSTER released the digital single DESERVE at 1 p.m. KST on the 23rd, a pop ballad that puts the members' voices front and center instead of the choreography the group is best known for. It arrives roughly four months after their June release SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA, a quick turnaround for a comeback.

Built on lyrical synth lines and a retro mood, the song looks back on past memories while wishing the other person happiness. The emotion builds toward the chorus, where the members' vocals carry the weight. YG Entertainment framed it as a deliberate gamble: "BABYMONSTER, a powerhouse in performance, has staked everything on their voices alone," the agency said, adding that the group will show a musical range stretching beyond hip-hop and dance to pop ballads.

The members echoed that in their own comments. "This is a style of song we've never shown before, and you'll see us looking more mature than before," they said through the agency. They added that they practiced by focusing on the flow of emotion rather than pitch, and hope listeners will find the autumn-ready track a comfortable listen when they need a change of mood.

A music video styled like a short film accompanies the release, capturing the song's wistfulness along with the members' acting.

Stage plans and the world tour

BABYMONSTER will perform the song live with handheld microphones on MBC's Show! Music Core on the 24th and SBS's Inkigayo on the 25th. Stripping the staging down to a mic and a voice makes sense for a ballad, and it will be the first real test of how the vocals hold up live.

The group's second world tour, 2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM], follows with 31 shows across 18 cities on five continents, widening their reach to fans worldwide.
