BABYMONSTER Hits 500,000 Japan Attendees, and They've Only Been Debuted 2.5 Years
BABYMONSTER packed Kyocera Dome Osaka across two nights on the 22nd and 23rd, drawing 90,000 fans to their first-ever dome show. The milestone pushes their Japan tour cumulative attendance to nearly 500,000 in under three years.

BABYMONSTER brought Kyocera Dome Osaka to a standstill on the 22nd and 23rd, selling out both nights of their dome debut for a combined audience of 90,000 fans. The two shows formed the finale of their 2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM] IN JAPAN SPECIAL LIVE AT KYOCERA DOME OSAKA, and the closing night was broadcast live on WOWOW, Japan's largest satellite television channel, carrying the energy of the arena into living rooms across the country.
The moment the lights dropped, the audience rose as one. BABYMONSTER opened with WE GO UP, performing the entire set on hand-held microphones with a full live band, a choice that announced, early and clearly, that this was not a playback show. From there they moved through SHEESH and DRIP, both of which have individually crossed 100 million streams in Japan, before showcasing tracks from their third mini-album CHOOM, the record that named the tour.

A setlist built for the dome
The scale of the venue gave the group license to reach further into their catalog than a club or arena run allows. Ghost, their first Japan-original track, sat alongside the slow-burn comeback hit REALLY LIKE YOU and their latest single SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA, and each member took a solo stage spotlighting the vocal, rap, and performance range that YG Entertainment has consistently positioned as their defining quality.
The production matched the ambition. An enormous stage set filled the dome's sightlines from the moment audiences walked in, and the show's visual sequences, cinematic VCR segments, laser rigs, pyrotechnics, and fog effects, gave the whole thing the texture of a film rather than a concert. When the color-synchronized light sticks across 45,000 seats began shifting in waves, the dome effectively became one large, breathing visual.
Osaka's own language, spoken onstage
Fan connection was a deliberate part of the night. All seven members communicated throughout in Japanese, without translators, and the group drew audible warmth from the crowd by slipping into Osaka dialect for several moments between songs. During the encore, they boarded moving carts and rode out into the crowd, making direct eye contact with fans in sections far from the main stage. The reception was strong enough that BABYMONSTER returned for a second encore, performing until the arena's final reserves of energy were spent.
For Japanese members Asa and Ruka, the significance of that moment was clearly something beyond a professional milestone. Both were visibly emotional, and the group's joint statement captured the feeling: "From the very first song, we were so overwhelmed we thought we might cry. Seeing the audience packed into every seat made us feel, all over again, how much love we're receiving. Every one of these moments exists because of the fans who have supported us without wavering. We want to keep moving forward with you and make even more beautiful memories."
Fans responded by chanting each member's name and calling out "수고했어" (good work), a small, warm gesture that landed with enough sincerity to move the group all over again.
The numbers behind the momentum
The dome run caps a Japan trajectory that is difficult to overstate. BABYMONSTER's first Japanese fan meeting in 2024 drew 46,000 people. Their 2025 tour brought in 250,000, setting a record for the fastest K-pop girl group to reach 150,000 attendees in Japan. This year's tour, which launched in Kobe in July across six cities and eleven shows, added another 200,000, putting their cumulative Japan attendance close to 500,000, all within two and a half years of debut.
The wider world tour, which started in Seoul in June, continues to expand as well. A newly confirmed Hong Kong date on January 10 has been added to the schedule, which now covers 30 shows across 18 cities on five continents, including stops in Asia, Oceania, South America, North America, and Europe.
