Yang Hyun-suk Breaks Five Months of Silence on YG's Next Two Debuts
Yang Hyun-suk says YG's 5-member boy group and 4-member girl group will debut once title tracks are set. The boy group already missed its September target. BABYMONSTER returns Oct. 23, TREASURE Nov. 2.

YG Entertainment's 5-member boy group missed the September debut target announced in April, and Yang Hyun-suk's new blog post still gives no replacement date. The founder and chief producer wrote on Wednesday the 14th that both the boy group and a 4-member girl group will record demo tracks by the end of the year, and that timelines become clearer "once their title tracks are finalized."
It is the first time Yang has laid out artist plans himself since late April, and the first update on the boy group's schedule since that September target slipped. The post, titled "FROM YG," ran on the company's official blog, YG LIFE. Yang opened by apologizing to global fans for writing so rarely because of a heavy production schedule. YG had not publicly explained the delay before this announcement.

Yang said he expects both teams to play an important role in YG's future alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, and that he is personally making every effort to have them fully prepared. The boy group would be YG's first since TREASURE debuted in 2020. The girl group has circulated under the working name "Next Monster."
What the debut window looks like
No date was given, so the debut math comes from outside. In an Oct. 6 report on YG, Hwang Ji-won, an analyst at iM Securities, projected that promotions for the boy group could begin before the end of the year, while the girl group could debut in 2027. With demos due by December and a title track still to be chosen, the second half of that projection looks tighter than the first. I'd circle the year-end "YG Announcement" video, which Yang said will bring more news, as the first real checkpoint.

Two comebacks lead the calendar
BABYMONSTER will release the digital single "DESERVE" on Oct. 23, roughly four months after the last promotion, "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA." Yang called it a slower-paced song that carries an intensity unlike anything the group has released before. A new album is being prepared for early next year.

The release lands in the middle of the group's second world tour, "2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM]," which covers 18 cities across five continents for 31 shows. The tour follows the third mini album CHOOM.
TREASURE returns on Nov. 2 with the digital single "SHOCK," a powerful hip-hop track. It follows the June mini album NEW WAV, which Yang framed as the start of the group's second chapter and the source of its biggest changes in musical direction. He asked fans to support that phase as it extends into 2027.
Taken together, the post reads as a pipeline update: two active acts with dated releases, two rookie teams still in the studio. The open question is how soon the boy group's title track gets picked.
