Actor Bae Na-ra, 35, and musical theater actor Han Jae-a, 34, will marry on the 14th at a Catholic church in OkSu-dong, Seoul, with each posting a handwritten letter to fans on social media on Tuesday. Bae's agency confirmed the date, and the couple shared a few wedding photos alongside the letters.

The wedding also closes Bae's time on MBC's I Live Alone. The show follows celebrities who live by themselves, and it has a rule that married cast members step down, so Bae is leaving about ten months after his first appearance in January.

A private ceremony and two letters

The nuptial Mass will be held in the afternoon at the Okso-dong church in Seongdong District, attended only by close family, relatives and acquaintances. It will not be open to the public.

In his letter, Bae wrote that he wanted to deliver the news in his own hand to the people who have supported him. He described meeting someone he wants to walk with for the rest of his life, and said the two had promised to share the first smile in good times and to be each other's quiet support in tiring ones. He added that he intends to remain a diligent actor and become the head of a household, and to repay fans' expectations with performances given his full effort.

Han wrote that she had found a person who would stand by her on hard days as well as happy ones, and that the two had promised to cherish and rely on each other. She asked fans to watch over and bless her new beginning, and said her attitude toward her work and the people around her would not change as she keeps walking at her own pace.

From Grease to a public relationship

The two met in 2019 while appearing together in the musical Grease. They later shared stages in productions including House Warming Concert and The Garden of Rapaccini, and moved from colleagues to a couple. Within the musical theater community they were reportedly well known as a pair long before they said so publicly.

Bae's relationship surfaced soon after he joined I Live Alone, and the two made it official in January. In July they said they were dating with marriage in mind. The wedding comes four months after that.

Two careers built on stage work

Bae debuted in 2013 in the musical Promise and became a recognized name in theater through Rebecca, Kinky Boots and Sa-ui Chanmi. He then moved into screen roles, leaving a strong impression in Netflix's D.P. Season 2 as the deserter Jang Seong-min, and appearing in Weak Hero Class 2, Wonderfools and the drama Your Taste. On I Live Alone he set aside the intense screen persona, showing his life with his cat along with camping and running. He was part of presenter Jun Hyun-moo's first Fun Run group, and in July formed a running crew with Kian84 and SHINee's Minho.

Han started her career in 2017 with Hamlet: Alive and has appeared in Maybe Happy Ending, West Side Story, Winterreise, Bronte, Hong Ryeon, Burn the Witch and Kinky Boots.

For a show built on the premise of single living, a cast member's wedding is the expected end point, and Bae's exit fits that pattern, if on an unusually short timeline.
