OMONAR

Singer-songwriter BIBI released Yochi! on October 2, marking her first Japanese-language recording in a career built on genre-bending Korean work. The song serves as the opening theme for Mame to Mugi, a new TV Tokyo drama that premiered the same day.

The drama adapts the manga of the same name by Taniguchi Natsuko, a well-known Japanese comics artist. It follows young people stumbling forward through life, imperfectly but persistently, and stars Saito Asuka (former Nogizaka46 member) and Tomita Miu in the lead roles.

Yochi! carries a message built around that same emotional register: even on the days when exhaustion wins, a new morning arrives and it's worth meeting with open hands. BIBI's voice, which tends to carry a warm, slightly smoky edge in her Korean work, translates that feeling in a language she hasn't recorded in before.

In a statement released through her label Feel Ghood Music, BIBI said the characters' persistence despite setbacks mirrored something she recognized. "The protagonists who keep moving forward one step at a time, even when things don't go as planned, overlapped with the image of all of us trying to live each day as best we can," she said. "I sang it with the feeling that it's okay to fall down. I hope this song can be a small source of strength for viewers."

The track is the latest sign that BIBI's reach is expanding well beyond the Korean market, with the TV Tokyo placement putting her voice in front of a primetime Japanese audience from the very first episode.

KATSEYE Drops a Hootie Frutti Remix With Brazilian Firepower

Also on October 2, KATSEYE, the Korean-American girl group formed through the HYBE-Geffen Records collaboration, released a remix of their track Hootie Frutti.

The remix was produced by Pedro Sampaio, one of Brazil's leading DJs and music producers, with features from Brazilian funk artist MC GW and DJ-producer Clementaum. According to the label, the rework amplifies what was already present in the original: a Portuguese-language intro, driving percussion, and a Brazilian-music energy that the remix now pushes further to the front by layering in heavier drums and a deeper bass floor.

KATSEYE is also set to perform at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles on the 18th.
