BIGBANG Names Their First World Tour in 9 Years 'XX : COSMOS', And It's Already Selling Out

BIGBANG's first world tour in nine years has a name. YG Entertainment announced on July 15 that the group's 20th anniversary run will be called XX : COSMOS, with the full billing reading BIGBANG 2026–2027 World Tour 'XX : COSMOS'. The same day, YG dropped two new official posters on social media.

The title breaks down neatly. 'XX' stands for the 20 years since BIGBANG's debut, while 'COSMOS' carries a broader conceptual weight: connection, relationship, and continuity across time. YG described it as representing 'everything that exists in the past, the present, and the future', the musical journey the group has built over two decades and the shared time with fans who built it alongside them. The members themselves proposed the concept, and YG says earlier promotional posters quietly embedded members' initials as easter eggs for fans to find.

The tour opens at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province on August 21–23. Those dates are already sold out, extended seating added in response to overwhelming demand also cleared out, which is an early signal of just how starved the fandom has been for a full BIGBANG touring cycle. Nine years is a long gap, and the appetite is clearly there.

With Manila now officially added to the schedule, the tour scales up to 19 cities and 33 shows across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia. The Goyang run was previously confirmed as the opening leg when the tour was first announced at 18 cities and 31 shows, so the Manila addition marks the second expansion since the initial announcement.

For a group that spent much of the last several years navigating member military service and the fallout from Seungri's 2019 criminal case, a full-scale world tour at this size is a genuine reset. The 'COSMOS' framing, past, present, future, reads less like marketing copy and more like a deliberate signal about where the group sees itself heading.
