The cameras were already flashing when BTS arrived at Incheon International Airport on September 30, but it was Jin who stopped everyone mid-stride. The oldest member walked into the departure hall wearing a merch T-shirt printed with an oversized photo of Jungkook's face, and the reaction was immediate.

Members crowded around Jin, pointing at the shirt and doubling over laughing. Jungkook himself spotted the design and couldn't hold it together either. J-Hope's reaction, captured by press photographers, became one of the more shareable images of the morning. What could have been a standard, slightly exhausting pre-departure press moment turned into a full-on group moment, all because the eldest member showed up dressed in his youngest bandmate.

Jin's deadpan delivery was half the joke. He wore the shirt without any apparent attempt to play it up, which is precisely the kind of understated bit that lands perfectly after years of group chemistry.

From the airport to 100,000 fans in Bogotá

The group boarded their flight in that mood, heading to South America for the BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG. Their first stop, Bogotá's Estadio El Campín, drew a combined 100,000 fans across two nights on October 2 and 3. Rolling Stone en Español called it "the most anticipated concert of an entire generation" and named it one of Colombia's defining cultural events of the year, writing that "BTS met expectations and in many moments exceeded them."

Next up is Lima, Peru, where BTS will perform at Estadio San Marcos on the 7th, 9th, and 10th. The city is already deep into celebration mode. The Santiago de Surco district officially renamed Calle Sacramento as "Avenida BTS" from the 5th through the 11th and put up special street signs to mark the occasion.

Lima's landmarks are in on it too. The Arco Morisco in Surco's Friendship Park has been bathed in purple lighting every night, while the Fuente de la Fantasía is running a BTS-themed fountain show combining music, light, and water screens throughout the same period.

For a tour named after Korea's most recognizable folk song, ARIRANG is making a case that BTS's reach has grown well past any single genre or region. The South America run is shaping up to be one of the more genuinely significant stops of their comeback era, and it started, fittingly, with Jin in a Jungkook shirt at gate departure.
