Los Angeles Declares 'BTS Week' as BTS Returns to SoFi Stadium for the First Time in Nearly 5 Years
Los Angeles has officially proclaimed September 1–8 'BTS Week' in honor of BTS's ARIRANG world tour concerts at SoFi Stadium, with City Hall lit up in the fifth album's signature red color. The group's four shows mark their first solo performances at the venue since December 2021, and all dates are sold out.

Los Angeles City Hall is glowing red this week, and BTS is the reason. To mark the group's return for their ARIRANG world tour, the city officially proclaimed September 1–8 'BTS Week,' a designation announced at a formal ceremony held at City Hall on August 31 with members of the city council, the LA Tourism Board, and Big Hit Music all in attendance.

The red illumination is more than a gesture: it mirrors the key color of ARIRANG, BTS's fifth studio album, and Big Hit Music described it as "an official welcome and expression of friendship" to the fans arriving from around the world.
What the city said
The LA City Council's formal resolution didn't hold back. It described BTS as "one of the most influential artists of the current generation" since their 2013 debut, crediting them with opening doors for Korean and Asian artists across the global music industry and connecting audiences across languages and cultures through a consistent message of hope.

Mayor Karen Bass echoed that framing in her own statement. "The proclamation of 'BTS Week' reflects our belief that art and culture have the power to foster mutual understanding and bring communities together," she said, adding that she was proud to celebrate the group's contributions to world culture and their "special connection" with Los Angeles alongside fans everywhere.
Councilmember John Lee tied the occasion to something broader: "This proclamation honors BTS's extraordinary footprint on global culture while also celebrating the long-standing bond between Los Angeles, Korea, and the Korean-American community."

Four nights, zero tickets left
BTS performs at SoFi Stadium on the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th, wrapping up the North American leg of the ARIRANG tour. All four shows are completely sold out. It is their first time headlining the venue since Permission to Dance on Stage in December 2021, a gap of nearly four years and nine months.
LA is not alone in rolling out a formal welcome. Earlier stops on the ARIRANG tour also earned official recognition: El Paso County in Texas, the state of Illinois, and Toronto each declared their own 'BTS Week' or 'BTS Day' to coincide with shows in those cities.
With City Hall lit up and the streets already full of ARMY, the city is making clear this isn't just another concert run.
