Chungha was transported to the emergency room in the early hours of the 18th, and her label MoVision confirmed she is currently receiving treatment there. Three days from now, her three-year contract with the company expires.

The immediate casualty was her slot at Kyonggi University's Seoul Campus festival, Gwiryongje, where she had been billed as a headline performer for the Deja Nu stage. MoVision issued an apology to organizers and students, saying the label would do everything possible to support her recovery, and wished the festival a safe and enjoyable conclusion without her.

The university's student council scrambled to fill the gap, announcing it was working with a booking agency to secure a replacement act and promised to update attendees by 2 p.m. that same day.

A contract exit and a string of bad timing

Chungha signed with MoVision in October 2023. The label confirmed this week that, after careful discussion, both sides agreed to wrap up the three-year partnership on the 21st. The statement was fairly standard for a parting of ways, but the health emergency landing right before the exit makes the whole stretch look chaotic.

It has not been a clean run-up to the split. Shortly before the news broke, Chungha drew criticism after footage circulated of her at a musical performance headlined by Wanna One alumnus Yoon Jisung, apparently using her phone and resting her feet on a seat in front of her. The behavior, described by Korean fans as gwankeu (audience disruption), generated its own cycle of backlash.

Before the emergency room visit, Chungha had been maintaining an active schedule, with appearances at various events and festivals. Two engagements are now hanging: the KB Joy All-Park Festival 2026 at Seoul Olympic Park on the 19th and 20th, and OBJET K-POP FESTA 2026 at Incheon Munhak Stadium from the 26th to the 27th. Neither MoVision nor Chungha's team has commented on whether those dates will hold.

Chungha debuted in 2016 as part of the project group I.O.I before launching a solo career built on tracks like Roller Coaster and Gotta Go. No further details about the nature of her health issue have been disclosed.
