Geum Sae-rok Screamed at Producers Mid-Interview Before Her 'Simya Goedam' Appearance

Geum Sae-rok was sitting alone in her car in an underground parking garage when the producers' questions got to be too much. The actor, scheduled to appear on MBC's horror talk show Simya Goedam (Late Night Ghost Story Club) Season 6, was on a pre-recording phone call with one of the show's writers, talking through ghost stories in the dark, when a personal memory surfaced and she suddenly screamed: "Can you please stop asking me things?"

One evening she was walking toward her door when something came at her from the other end of the corridor at full speed. She said she confirmed what it was in an instant, and the shock nearly put her on the floor. She has not yet revealed what she actually saw, and Simya Goedam is, to its credit, exactly the kind of show that knows how to sit on that detail.

Episode 7 brings three separate ghost stories alongside Geum Sae-rok's appearance. Apartment Line 3 follows a mysterious presence threatening a home that should be safe. Public Health Doctor traps its protagonist on an island with nowhere to run. Woman in the Coffin traces a strange chain of events set off when three separate taboos are broken in succession.

The show also carries a competitive element worth noting. Viewer-submitted stories are accepted by email and through the official website, and any story selected for broadcast earns a prize of 444,444 won. A live online audience votes by candlelight during each episode, and the top-ranked story gets an additional bonus. Last week's episode produced the season's second so-called wanbul (完拂), the term used when a story earns a perfect-score candle vote of 44 out of 44, which generated significant audience response.

Geum Sae-rok announced before recording that a full 44-candle score was her personal goal for the night. Whether her hallway story is the one that gets her there is what the episode will settle. She has built a reputation across period dramas, romance, and thrillers, and the range makes her a credible fit for a show that rewards performers who can hold a room with just a story. Early returns from the audience reaction to last week's wanbul suggest Season 6 has found its rhythm.
