Park Se-ri's housewarming segment on Jeon Charm Sight arrived in two escalating acts: a tour of a new townhouse with a basement cinema and a two-story pergola terrace, followed by a fireworks viewing from the roof of Seoul's 63 Building. The combination landed as something of a signature move for a retired athlete who has leaned into a public identity built around spending generously on the people around her.

The episode, which aired on MBC on September 19, previewed her upcoming appearance with footage of the new townhouse, which she described as a recent move. The space reads less like a Korean apartment than a suburban American estate transplanted into the city: marble floors, a wide open living area, a private screening room in the basement, and a rooftop terrace with a full pergola structure. MC panelists on the show reacted to the terrace with something close to disbelief, with one describing it as the most complete terrace they had seen on the program.

A housewarming on a particular scale

The party preparations were in keeping with the setting. Park Se-ri ordered eight boxes of fruit and a block of oversized ice, then gathered her entire staff for what turned out to be a full sit-down meal. The appetizer course alone was a large-format braised short rib dish; comedian Lee Young-ja, one of the show's MCs, estimated the quantity at around five million won's worth of food. Premium Korean hanwoo beef followed as the main course.

This kind of visible generosity toward staff and employees has become a recurring theme in Park Se-ri's television appearances, and Jeon Charm Sight, which structures itself around celebrities and their managers, gives that dynamic a natural stage. The show has run for more than 400 episodes since its debut and remains one of MBC's more consistent variety performers on weekends.

Above the fireworks

The evening's second act took place at the 63 Building on Yeouido, one of Seoul's most recognizable landmarks at 63 floors. Park Se-ri had arranged seats at the top of the building to watch the Han River fireworks festival from above, a vantage point that most viewers of the display never experience. Looking down at fireworks rather than up at them is a genuinely different thing: the spread of the bursts is visible in a way that ground-level viewing cannot replicate.

The MCs watching the preview footage said as much. "We've never looked down at fireworks before," one noted, and another described the view simply as a painting. It was a tidy conclusion to a segment that started with real estate and ended, somewhat unexpectedly, in spectacle.
