IVE walk through a street of burning cars and cracked pavement in six color-coded hero suits, and the teaser cuts off on a director's call of "Action." Starship Entertainment released the first music video teaser for Looks Can Kill on the 16th through the group's official social channels.

The clip opens behind the scenes. Members get their hair and makeup done, adjust costumes and strike individual poses for the camera, and one group shot has them miming finger guns. Then the scene changes and the six members (Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo) appear in hero suits matched to each member's signature color, striding through the ruined street. Near the end come wire-action prep and a slate clap before that final "Action," which leaves the full video as the open question.

The hero names fans are already sharing

Behind-the-scenes stills released alongside the teaser show the members relaxing in a waiting room and joking around, a looser side to go with the teaser's swagger. The photos also reveal each member's hero alias: Captain Purple, Wonder Green, Gene Yellow, Bat Pink, Super Blue and Spider Red.

What the title track sounds like

According to the label, Looks Can Kill opens on an intense synth pad rhythm, then layers heavy, rough bass with drums and electronic sounds. The mood is confident and high-energy, built around the idea that IVE overpower a room just by arriving. Seo Ji-eum, Lil Cherry and Rei took part in the writing, and the label points to a repeated hook and witty lyrics set against a catchy melody.

Release schedule and concept

The title track is released early on the 19th, and the mini album of the same name follows on the 26th. It is IVE's first domestic activity in eight months, since the second full album REVIVE+ in February.

The release extends the group's "Another Ego" thread: after Cupid and a magical girl, the third persona is the girl hero. The stated message is that anyone can be the protagonist and hero of their own life. Given how neatly the superhero framing fits IVE's confident image, the concept looks like a natural next step.
