Ji Ye-eun and WE DEM BOYZ choreographer Bata announce December wedding
Actress and variety personality Ji Ye-eun and WE DEM BOYZ leader Bata have announced they will marry on December 12 in Seoul. The two, both 32 and born in 1994, confirmed their relationship in April after growing close through their shared church community. Bata is known for choreographing Jennie's 'Like Jenny' and Zico's 'New Yang' as well as finishing runner-up on the 2022 Mnet survival show Street Man Fighter.

Actress Ji Ye-eun and dancer-choreographer Bata, leader of dance crew WE DEM BOYZ, will wed on December 12 in Seoul, their agencies confirmed on September 2. The announcement closes a timeline that moved quickly even by industry standards: the couple publicly confirmed their relationship only in April, roughly eight months before the planned ceremony.
Ji Ye-eun's agency CP Entertainment and Bata's agency Aira both released statements, with CP saying the two "have promised to share their lives together on the foundation of deep trust." Aira described the couple as beginning "a new journey as partners, bound by trust and love."

How they met
The two are the same age, both born in 1994, and had moved in overlapping entertainment circles for years before their relationship developed. According to people familiar with the situation, the closer connection came through church: both are devout Christians, and they grew from acquaintances to close friends within the same congregation before the relationship became romantic.

Ji Ye-eun has spoken about her faith publicly on several programs, mentioning that her mother is a senior church elder and that she herself served as a youth group teacher. She has also been candid about what drew her to Bata specifically, describing him in one broadcast appearance as someone who gave up drinking and smoking after deepening his faith, and noting that he had been learning to cook for her.

The relationship became public in April, when both sides confirmed the news with a joint statement describing the two as "colleagues who developed genuine feelings for each other." Ji Ye-eun was mid-shoot on SBS's Running Man at the time; host Yoo Jae-suk reportedly joked on camera that he had never seen anyone so visibly anxious while waiting for their own dating news to break.

Who they are
Ji Ye-eun debuted in 2017 with the web drama How To and built her profile through Coupang Play's SNL Korea reboot, where her comedic timing brought her wider recognition. She joined Running Man as a regular member and has since appeared on Netflix's Daehwanjang Gian-jang and Yoo Jae-suk Camp, among other variety projects. She graduated from the Korea National University of Arts.

Bata is probably better known to K-pop audiences through his choreography work than through his own name. He created the choreography for Zico's "New Yang" (새삥), which became one of the more widely circulated dance challenges of its release cycle, and handled Jennie's solo "Like Jenny" last year. His crew WE DEM BOYZ finished runner-up on Mnet's Street Man Fighter in 2022, where Bata was the youngest leader-category contestant in the competition. He also contributed choreography for Ji Ye-eun's project group with Ji Suk-jin, Chungju Ji-ssi, when they performed at Water Bomb Seoul 2025.
The wedding is set for December 12 at a private venue in Seoul.
