Baek Jinhee, Kwak Siyangm and Ji Yeeun: Korea's September Wedding Rush Explained
Actors Ji Yeeun, Kwak Siyang, and Baek Jinhee each announced upcoming weddings in the first week of September, with all three announcements arriving within five days of one another. The back-to-back news spanning acting, K-pop, and dance circles has generated a wave of fan congratulations across social media.

Three celebrity couples announced their weddings in the span of five days at the start of September, an unusual cluster that has kept Korean entertainment fans in a near-constant state of well-wishing. The announcements came from actor Ji Yeeun and dancer Bata on the 2nd, actor Kwak Siyang and former Lovelyz member Yujiae on the 3rd, and actor Baek Jinhee on the 7th.

Ji Yeeun and Bata
Ji Yeeun and Bata, both born in 1994, are set to marry on December 12 at an undisclosed venue in Seoul. Their agencies confirmed the news separately: Ji Yeeun's label CP Entertainment described the relationship as built on "deep trust," while Bata's label Aira said the two had "found a precious connection and will begin a new journey as a married couple."

Both shared their own messages. Ji Yeeun described Bata as someone who "always takes my side, gives me strength, and showed me what it means to share happiness." Bata called her "a gift of a person who sees and loves me as I am."
The two met through their shared work in the entertainment industry and grew closer through a common religious faith. They acknowledged their relationship publicly in April, and the wedding announcement came roughly five months after that confirmation. Neither kept their affection low-key in the intervening months, with both appearing together on broadcasts and posting about each other openly.

Kwak Siyang and Yujiae
One day later, actor Kwak Siyang and Yujiae, known to fans from her time with girl group Lovelyz, announced plans to marry on November 28 in a private ceremony attended only by family and close friends. Kwak Siyang's agency 9ato Entertainment confirmed the news, as did Yujiae's label YG Kplus, which noted the two had "nurtured their love over roughly a year of dating."
Kwak Siyang shared a handwritten letter saying he hoped they would "be each other's steady support in hard times and laugh together in joyful ones, building a warm home." Yujiae wrote that she had "found someone I want to cherish, lean on, and spend the future with, and we promised a new beginning with good intentions."
What drew particular attention was that no dating rumors had ever surfaced before the announcement. The couple had dated quietly for about a year, making the wedding news a genuine surprise rather than a confirmation of long-circulating speculation.

Baek Jinhee
The third announcement, on the 7th, came from actor Baek Jinhee. Her agency Management AM9 said she will marry on January 23 next year at a hotel in Seoul. Her partner is an older professional who lives in Canada, and the two met while Baek Jinhee was on a language study program there last year. The couple maintained a long-distance relationship before deciding to marry; after the wedding, they plan to split their time between Korea and Canada.

Like Kwak Siyang and Yujiae, Baek Jinhee had given no public hint of a relationship before the announcement. The news prompted renewed interest in a Toronto travel vlog she had posted in July, in which she dined at a steakhouse with two male acquaintances. Since her partner is known to be a Canada-based professional, some viewers have wondered whether he appears in the footage. That has not been confirmed.
All three announcements arrived without the drawn-out buildup of dating rumors and denials that typically precedes celebrity wedding news in Korea. Whether that reflects a broader shift toward keeping relationships private until a couple is truly ready to announce, or simply coincidence among three unrelated pairs, the result was a concentrated stretch of good news that caught fans pleasantly off guard.
