Ji Ye-eun Denies Premarital Pregnancy After Whirlwind 5-Month Courtship with Bata

Actress Ji Ye-eun addressed premarital pregnancy rumors directly on the Running Man YouTube channel this week, telling viewers she found the speculation frustrating given that it is simply not true. The comments follow a pattern that surfaces reliably in Korean celebrity culture when a couple moves from relationship announcement to marriage in under six months.

A preview clip released on the 12th showed Ji Ye-eun surrounded by the Running Man cast, who had arranged a small wedding celebration with a cake. In the middle of the festivities, she spoke plainly about the speculation that had followed her engagement news. "People around me are saying it's too soon, and some are asking whether I'm pregnant before marriage," she said. "What I find unfair is that I don't have a child." She added that she and Bata have no plans for children yet, and that she wants to enjoy being newlyweds first.

Why she said yes

Ji Ye-eun and Bata, both born in 1994, met as church friends before the relationship became romantic. Their courtship became public knowledge in April following an exclusive report, and they confirmed it themselves shortly after. The wedding is set for December 12.

On what made her certain about Bata, Ji Ye-eun was specific. She described him as a genuinely warm person who chooses his words carefully even during arguments, and said he was a steady, reassuring presence during a period when she was unwell. "Someone who stays solidly by your side when you're sick is the best kind of person," she said.

Cast member HaHa added that Bata is known for rarely putting a book down, which Ji Ye-eun acknowledged with some amusement, admitting they are not exactly evenly matched intellectually. She also noted that Bata graduated from the engineering department at Hongik University, a detail that seemed to surprise some of her castmates.

On the subject of her future in-laws, Ji Ye-eun said the family has been welcoming, partly because they watch Running Man regularly. She mentioned that she had skipped a concert by her castmate Kim Jong-kook in order to travel to Cheongju to meet Bata's mother, who lives there with his father and works in farming.
