BTS Jimin's solo track Who has crossed 100 million cumulative streams in Japan, earning a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in the streaming category for July 2026. Big Hit Music confirmed the news on August 31, calling it both the highest streaming total among all of Jimin's solo songs and his first-ever RIAJ Platinum on the streaming side.

The RIAJ awards streaming certifications monthly on a tiered scale: Gold at 50 million streams, Platinum at 100 million, and Diamond at 500 million. Clearing the Platinum bar is a meaningful threshold in a market as competitive and format-specific as Japan, where domestic charts and certification bodies tend to move at their own pace relative to global streaming momentum.

What 'Who' is, and why it landed

Who is the title track of Jimin's second solo album MUSE, released in 2024. Built around powerful, front-loaded beats layered over acoustic guitar, the song explores the longing and confusion of missing someone out of reach. It's the kind of production that gives a vocalist room to be expressive rather than flashy, and Jimin uses that space well, the vocal performance stays controlled even when the arrangement gets dense.

The track's global run has been well-documented. It debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated August 3, 2024), held on the chart for 33 weeks total, and claimed No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for two consecutive weeks each, staying in those rankings for 74 and 89 weeks respectively. On the UK Official Singles Top 100, it peaked at No. 4 and charted for 28 weeks. The Japan Platinum is the latest data point confirming the song's staying power beyond its initial release cycle.

Jimin's RIAJ record across both albums

Jimin has now built a layered certification record with the RIAJ across multiple formats. His first solo album FACE crossed 250,000 cumulative sales in Japan and earned Platinum in the album category, while MUSE surpassed 100,000 copies sold for a Gold album certification. Adding a streaming Platinum for Who on top of those physical milestones gives a fuller picture of how broadly his solo work has connected with Japanese listeners across different consumption habits.

For ARMYs tracking Jimin's solo discography, the RIAJ streaming Platinum for Who closes a gap that the album certifications left open, and at 100 million streams and counting, there's still room for the number to grow.
