KISS OF LIFE Drops 6-Track Japan Mini-Album SWEAT: Digimon Tie-In Included

KISS OF LIFE dropped their second Japanese mini-album, SWEAT -JAPANESE EP-, on all global streaming platforms at midnight on the 16th, and the track list alone makes a case for how seriously they're treating the Japanese market.

S2 Entertainment describes the record as one that trades performed effort and anxiety for a quieter, more natural kind of confidence, the result of refinement rather than proof. Whether that lands as a concept depends on the music, and the music is covering a lot of ground.

What's actually on the EP

The title track "SWEAT" is the clearest statement of intent: an Afro house base layered with electronic pop and Latin rhythms, the word "sweat" treated not as a literal descriptor but as a metaphor for accumulated time and practice. It's an ambitious frame for a dance track, and the production earns it.

Beyond the title track, the six-song project moves in several directions at once. "Was It You" is a Japan-original R&B cut built around a single moment in a relationship. "BREAK IT", the ending theme for the TV anime Digimon Vitabrace, appears in both its original and English versions, giving the group a rare mainstream anime placement. The Japanese-language version of "Who is She" brings the group's signature charisma energy, while a remix of "Igloo," one of their bigger global streaming moments, rounds out the set.

KISS OF LIFE got their first foothold in Japan with the debut single Lucky, which established a local fanbase before this EP arrived. Six tracks at this point in a Japan rollout is not a test run, it's a commitment, and the Digimon tie-in in particular gives them visibility outside the K-pop lane entirely.

The combination of genre range, anime crossover, and a remix of an already-proven track suggests S2 Entertainment is playing a longer game here than a single-market release usually warrants.
