CORTIS's Gunho Fractures Both Pinky Fingers Before Debut Tour, Will Perform Without Choreography

CORTIS member Gunho will take the stage at his group's debut tour this weekend without performing the full choreography, after fracturing the pinky fingers on both hands in a fall. The injury, confirmed by label Big Hit Music on July 15 via the fan platform Weverse, arrives just days before the July 18-19 shows at Inspire Arena in Incheon, the first dates of the 2026 CORTIS Tour 'PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN'.

According to the label's statement, Gunho fell and braced himself with both hands, fracturing the area around the pinky fingers on each. He visited a hospital, received the necessary treatment, and is currently recovering in stable condition. Medical staff advised him to wear casts and braces for the time being and to minimize strenuous movement in both arms.

Big Hit Music said the Incheon concerts will proceed with Gunho participating in a reduced capacity, focusing on vocals while keeping arm movement to a minimum. The label added that his involvement in upcoming festival appearances and other scheduled events will continue to be assessed in close consultation with medical staff, and that the format of his participation may be adjusted as recovery progresses.

Gunho addressed fans directly on Weverse, acknowledging the timing. "Because it's the first tour, I really wanted to be there fully," he wrote. "I can't do the choreography together with everyone, but I'll show you the best stage I can within what's possible, and I'll recover quickly."

The label framed the decision as a balance between Gunho's strong desire to participate and the medical priority of protecting the injury. "The artist himself has a very strong will to take part in the scheduled tour and activities," Big Hit Music noted, "but we are placing the medical team's advice and Gunho's recovery above all else, and plan to manage future schedules with flexibility."

CORTIS, described by its label as a 신인류 (new-generation) group under Big Hit Music, released their second mini-album GREENGREEN in April. Performing without choreography at a group's first-ever tour is an unusual constraint, particularly for an act still building its live reputation, though Gunho's decision to appear at all rather than withdraw entirely reflects the calculus that labels and artists often navigate around early-career milestones.
