Park Sung-gwang's Dog Gwangbok Shows Signs of Recovery from Heart Disease

Comedian Park Sung-gwang shared a quiet piece of good news on his social media on the 6th: Gwangbok, his dog who has been receiving treatment for heart disease, appears to be recovering. "This is how Gwangbok looks right now," he wrote alongside a photo taken at the veterinary clinic. "His expression has improved a lot."

Gwangbok has appeared alongside Park on multiple television programs over the years, becoming a recognizable presence to fans of the comedian. News of the dog's heart condition surfaced earlier and prompted a wave of concern and encouragement online. Park acknowledged that directly in the post, writing that Gwangbok had recovered somewhat thanks to the support of so many people.

Along with the clinic photo, Park uploaded a chest X-ray image and asked followers for recommendations on oxygen chambers for dogs, a device sometimes used in veterinary care for pets with cardiac conditions to help ease breathing and support circulation.

His wife, actor Lee Sol-i, recently addressed the situation as well, noting that the couple is currently rotating care between two dogs both diagnosed with heart disease. "We go to the hospital together," she said. "Because we have two dogs with heart disease, we take turns caring for them."

Park and Lee married in 2020 and appeared together on the SBS reality program Same Bed, Different Dreams 2, which followed their early married life. More recently, rumors of a divorce circulated online, but Lee Sol-i denied them directly, dismissing the speculation.

For now, the focus is on Gwangbok's recovery, and Park's post suggests the response from fans has been part of keeping that process moving forward.
