Song Joong-ki gave actress and TV personality Choi Hwa-jung a bottle of olive oil from the first harvest he and his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, picked together in Italy, and the label carries a drawing of two small children climbing a ladder. Choi showed it off in a video posted on the 15th, and it has become the clearest glimpse of the couple's home life since malicious divorce rumors circulated in July.

The video, titled "Queen of Self-Care Choi Hwa-jung! First-Ever Reveal of 5 Greek Yogurt Dishes She Always Eats in the Morning," appeared on her YouTube channel, Hello, I'm Choi Hwa-jung. While making a Turkish eggs dish, she reached for the oil and said Song had given it to her. "He said it was olive oil from the first harvest he and his wife did themselves in Italy," she explained. "Apparently, the two of them harvested the olives together. It's so precious."

Then she pointed to the illustration on the bottle. "The little babies here represent their children," Choi said. She admitted she thinks the oil is too special to use casually and normally saves it for when she eats on an empty stomach, but she made an exception for the video. After drizzling it over the dish, she remarked, "The aroma is different!"

A life split between Korea and Italy

The detail fits what Song has said before. He has shared that Katy, a British former actress who has lived in Italy for most of her life, spends about half of each year there, and that the family splits its time accordingly. Her relatives live in Rome, where the couple's daughter was born in November 2024. Their son was born in 2023.

Song also appeared on Choi's channel in December 2024, where he said his interest in olive oil began after he met his wife and that he cooks with oil from olive trees grown at home. The gifted bottle looks like the next chapter of that story.

Song and Katy married in January 2023, his second marriage. In July, fake news spread on YouTube and elsewhere claiming the two had split. It was treated as groundless speculation at the time, and Choi's relaxed, offhand mention of the couple's harvest, from a friend who clearly speaks with them, makes for a pleasantly low-key reply.

Fans in the Korean community comments section responded warmly. One top-rated reaction to the story drew nearly 200 upvotes against 13 downvotes, though much of the response pointed out that the video's real subject was Choi's yogurt recipes, and the olive oil was a passing moment in the kitchen.
