Stray Kids' Bang Chan Donates 200 Million Won to Support Rehabilitation and Nepal Flood Relief

Major Contribution to Rehabilitation and Relief

Bang Chan, the leader of the popular K-pop group Stray Kids, has made a significant impact by donating 200 million won (approximately $143,900) to assist rehabilitation initiatives in Korea and support flood recovery efforts in Nepal. His agency, JYP Entertainment, announced this generous contribution on September 19, detailing that Bang Chan allocated 100 million won each to the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and to the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

The donation to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital aims to establish specialized rehabilitation centers that cater to various patient age groups and medical conditions. Meanwhile, the funds directed toward UNICEF Korea will aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of communities affected by severe flooding in Nepal.

A Heartfelt Message

In a statement through JYP Entertainment, Bang Chan expressed his empathy, saying, "I wanted to offer even a small measure of comfort to those going through exhausting and difficult times. I sincerely hope many people can return to peaceful daily lives as soon as possible."

This act of kindness is not Bang Chan's first; he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy. On October 3 last year, coinciding with his birthday, he donated another 200 million won, 100 million won to support pediatric treatment costs at Samsung Medical Center and an equal amount to UNICEF Korea for global children’s aid.

In 2024, he contributed 100 million won to support individuals with developmental disabilities, earning him a spot in the Honor Society, recognizing major donors. Furthermore, in 2025, he and his bandmates contributed to disaster relief efforts for wildfires in South Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang provinces, as well as to recovery initiatives in Hong Kong following a tragic fire.

Ongoing Music Endeavors

Besides his philanthropic efforts, Bang Chan continues to thrive as a musician. He holds the copyright for 244 tracks with the Korean Music Copyright Association and is actively involved in the group's upcoming projects, including a new music festival named STRAYCITY and their global tour, RUN IT.
