TUIDE debuted last month under HIVE and ABD Entertainment, and the early returns are the kind that make you circle the date on a calendar: the seven-member girl group has claimed #1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart in the chart's September 26 tabulation, their first appearance on the publication's radar and a notable one at that.

The group also landed on three additional Billboard charts simultaneously. Their debut mini-album TUNE & PLAY entered the World Albums chart at No. 3 and Top Album Sales at No. 8, while the group ranked No. 78 on the broader Artist 100, a chart that tracks overall artist influence and reach. Landing there as a rookie, inside 30 days of debut, is uncommon.

The numbers behind the arrival

The foundation for those Billboard placements was built fast. TUNE & PLAY sold more than 110,000 copies in its first week, according to Hanteo Chart data, placing it inside the all-time top 10 for first-week sales among K-pop girl group debut albums, and making it the best-selling debut album by a Korean female act in 2026. The album also entered iTunes Top Albums charts in 22 countries and regions around the world.

The title track SUN KISS drove the streaming side of the story. It held No. 1 on Apple Music's Today's Top 100: South Korea for seven consecutive days, and placed in the top tier of Melon's Hot 100, Spotify Korea's Daily Top Songs, and YouTube Korea's weekly popular songs chart. The music video peaked at No. 1 on YouTube Korea's daily music video chart and reached No. 15 globally. Notably, the strength did not stay concentrated in the lead single: all five tracks on TUNE & PLAY charted on both Melon's Hot 100 and Apple Music Korea's Top 100, a sign of genuine listener engagement rather than algorithmic front-loading.

What the 'Soultronic' label is actually doing

TUIDE has made a point of branding their sound around a genre they call Soultronic, a blend of soul and electronic production designed to feel both warm and sonically modern. The combination appears to be connecting beyond Korea's domestic audience in a way that pure dance-pop often struggles to, which may explain the traction in international iTunes charts and the Billboard World Albums placement.

Critical reception has been strong. The Hollywood Reporter called the group "a team that already possesses sophisticated polish and a global sensibility." Vogue Hong Kong described the listening experience as being pulled into "a cool, quiet yet unpredictable world the moment you press play."

The seven members, Seohui, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Sea, and Leehaneui, have also drawn notice for live performance quality. The group collected "better live than the recording" comparisons, a specific type of praise that tends to build durability on music show stages. SUN KISS additionally generated viral traction through a full-chorus dance challenge that climbed to No. 3 on Instagram's Reels Rising Audio in Korea and placed in the Korean TikTok Viral 50, while the house-dance-driven B-side GRLS attracted attention from professional dancers.

Wrapping a debut cycle with room to grow

The group closed their official promotional cycle for SUN KISS on the 20th with a stage on SBS Inkigayo. In a message to fans, the members said they could not believe a month had already passed, and that every day had been filled with more love than they imagined. They also posted a Chuseok holiday greeting on the 24th through their official social channels, in which they wished fans a restful and warm holiday with loved ones, adding a pledge to keep cheering for everyone's wishes under the full moon.

The group also released a Chuseok-themed variety segment on their official YouTube channel the day prior, with members split into three teams and competing in a holiday cooking challenge featuring traditional dishes, playing characters from different fictional noble families and generating the kind of unscripted chemistry that translates to subscriber growth.

The ceiling here depends on what ABD and HIVE do with the momentum. A Billboard Emerging Artists #1 in the first month, an 11-week domestic chart run still in progress, and a critical reception that has reached outlets from Hollywood to Hong Kong: TUIDE has done what debut math asks of them. What happens next is a scheduling question.
