USPEER's First Trophy Comes With a Hanteo No. 1 and a Growing Asia Footprint
Rookie girl group USPEER claimed the Hallyu Special Award at the 8th Newsis K-EXPO on the 28th, making it their first trophy since debut. The six-member group has been building real momentum: their title track WICKED GAME hit real-time No. 1 on Hanteo Chart and set a new personal first-week sales record, while recent promotions in Japan and a fan meeting in Taiwan signal a broadening international footprint.

USPEER walked away from the 8th Newsis K-EXPO with the Hallyu Special Award on the 28th, marking the first time the six-member rookie girl group has won any award since their debut. The ceremony was held in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The Hallyu Special Award recognizes emerging acts judged to have the potential to lead the next wave of Korean pop culture. Last year it went to girl group Lisanne; this year the committee passed the baton to USPEER, whose members are Sian, Soi, Seoyoo, Daon, Chaena, and Roa.
What the early numbers say
The timing of the win reflects a genuine upward trajectory. USPEER's debut mini album BITE DISTRICT, released in June, produced a title track called WICKED GAME that reached real-time No. 1 on Hanteo Chart and broke the group's own first-week sales record. For a rookie act with no prior chart benchmark, setting a personal best on debut is the baseline expectation, but a real-time Hanteo No. 1 is a harder number to dismiss: that chart tracks purchases as they happen, and it responds to organic listener behavior, not just pre-orders from a loyal core fandom.
Beyond the domestic chart result, USPEER has recently wrapped promotional activities in Japan and a fan meeting in Taiwan, two markets that typically come later in a rookie group's calendar. Moving into Asia this early in their career suggests their agency is accelerating the international timeline, which is worth noting if you are tracking their ceiling.
What comes next
Accepting the award, the group said they intend to repay the recognition with better music and better stages, and pledged to help spread Korean culture more widely. It reads as standard award-night language, but the group gave fans a concrete next step to hold them to: on September 1 at 6 p.m. KST, USPEER will host an outdoor busking event called A Day With US in front of the Star Square at the entrance of Hyundai Department Store Sinchon Branch U-PLEX in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
A free street performance open to casual passersby is a low-stakes but smart move for a group still building name recognition outside its fandom. Early returns on BITE DISTRICT are solid enough that the September 1 date is worth circling. The real test will be whether they can translate a Hanteo chart peak and a regional promo run into a broader listener base before their next release.
