Ayogi Reveals Boyfriend, And Her Voice Already Gave It Away

Korean model, YouTuber, and fashion entrepreneur Ayogi (real name Kim Min-young) went public with her relationship on August 1st, posting a couple photo alongside traditional Korean medicine doctor Kim Hyeong-bae and writing, "Please look at us kindly." The photo, taken in a photo booth, shows the two pressing their faces together and smiling broadly, the easy warmth between them landing less like a press announcement and more like something you'd stumble across on a friend's feed.

The timing, though, was not entirely by her own design. Ayogi had announced the month before that she was in a relationship, but kept her boyfriend's face hidden, covering it with an emoji while leaving his tall frame and broad shoulders visible. Naturally, the internet got to work.

Speculation built online, and the clue that cracked it open was Ayogi's own voice. Viewers noticed that a woman's voice in videos on Kim Hyeong-bae's YouTube channel sounded distinctly like Ayogi's, and the theory spread. She confirmed the couple reveal sooner than planned largely because of this, writing that she had gone to help him film content as a more experienced YouTuber, teasing him about showing him the ropes. She had no idea the footage would go live so quickly.

"I went over acting like a senior YouTuber, bragging that I'd teach him a thing or two," she wrote. "I had no idea it would be revealed like that. My voice really is my fingerprint."

Once the reveal was out, she leaned into it with characteristic directness. "Since it's come to this, I'll just show his face and do YouTube comfortably," she said, adding that Kim Hyeong-bae "wasn't particularly flustered and seemed to be quietly enjoying it", which, given the circumstances, probably says something about his personality.

Ayogi has built a YouTube channel with around 770,000 subscribers and runs fashion and beauty businesses alongside her content work. She was previously married to racing driver and entrepreneur Seo Ju-won in 2018; the two divorced in 2022.

Kim Hyeong-bae practices traditional Korean medicine (한의사, hanuisa) and maintains his own YouTube presence. As couple reveals go, this one had more personality than most, with Ayogi's unplanned cameo as the world's least anonymous voice doing most of the heavy lifting.
