South America's governments aren't waiting for BTS to arrive before rolling out the welcome mat. Ahead of the group's October tour, host cities across the continent have already begun treating the concerts as national-scale cultural events, with local authorities coordinating security plans, tourism authorities spotlighting the shows in official promotional materials, and one Argentine city formally voting the group an honor usually reserved for visiting heads of state.

The tour opens in Bogotá, Colombia on October 2, and the city's official tourism site, Visit Bogotá, has framed the concert as a landmark moment, describing BTS as "one of the defining groups of global pop in the 21st century" and pointing to their music, stage production, and bond with the ARMY fanbase as what sets them apart. La Plata prepares for 150,000 visitors

The Argentine city of La Plata, which hosts three shows on October 21 and 23–24, has mobilized at every level of government. The resolution cited the group's global cultural reach, their advocacy for youth rights, and their contributions to international public causes. Fan events lighting up Lima and Santiago
