Jungkook landed at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 in the early hours of September 21, wrapping a U.S. trip that ended with a new streaming landmark to his name.

Standing Next to You, the lead single from his debut solo album Golden, has surpassed 500 million plays on YouTube Music. That puts Jungkook in a group of one among BTS solo artists: he now has four tracks at that threshold, joined by Seven (feat. Latto), 3D (feat. Jack Harlow), and Left and Right, his collaboration with Charlie Puth.

What the numbers actually say

The retro funk groove of Standing Next to You was always built to travel. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 5 and opened at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global excl. US charts. In the UK it landed at No. 6 on the Official Singles Top 100. On Spotify alone the track has since accumulated 1.5 billion streams, so the YouTube Music milestone is more confirmation than surprise.

Back from Las Vegas

The homecoming followed BTS's performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, where the group performed four songs. It marked the first time in six years the full seven-member lineup appeared on that stage, and fan reaction on social media was predictably loud.
