CORTIS Hits 15M Instagram Followers Faster Than Any K-pop Group Ever
CORTIS crossed 15 million Instagram followers on August 5, becoming the fastest K-pop group ever to reach that milestone, less than a year after opening their account. The Big Hit Music group got an additional boost from their Lollapalooza Chicago performance on August 1, which sent a wave of new followers across every platform.

CORTIS crossed 15 million Instagram followers on August 5, according to their label Big Hit Music (HYBE), becoming the first K-pop group to hit that number in under a year of account activity. No K-pop group that debuted within the last five years has reached that figure, making the record theirs alone.
The number is notable on its own, but the velocity behind it is what makes it worth circling. CORTIS opened their Instagram account in August 2025, roughly a year before the milestone, and the pace held across platforms. As of August 8, their TikTok stood at 15.82 million followers and their YouTube channel at 6.24 million subscribers, both the highest counts among K-pop boy groups that debuted in the past five years.
The Lollapalooza Chicago performance on August 1 delivered a visible spike. The group performed alongside DJ Anklesandwich before a crowd of approximately 50,000 at Grant Park, and footage from the live set spread quickly across social media in the days that followed, accelerating follower inflows across all three platforms.
Streaming figures back up the social growth. "REDRED," the title track from their second mini-album, charted on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global for 15 consecutive weeks (July 31 to August 6, landing at No. 189), while holding the top spot on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Korea for the same 15-week stretch. On Billboard's latest charts dated August 8, the track appeared at No. 109 on the Global 200 and No. 63 on Global (excluding the US), both for a 14th consecutive week. That kind of long-tail streaming performance inside the first year of a group's career is a strong early indicator: it suggests an audience that keeps listening rather than one that spikes on release day and disappears.
The group is currently in the middle of a North American tour, 2026 CORTIS Tour 'Put Your Phone Down' in North America, running through six cities including Atlanta and Los Angeles until August 16. After returning to Seoul for shows at Korea University's Hwajung Gymnasium on August 22 and 23, they head to Japan for three dates at Kanagawa PIA Arena MM from September 4 to 6. Festival appearances follow: Rock in Japan Festival 2026 on September 20 and the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on October 9.
With those bookings ahead, the ceiling here has not shown itself yet. The debut math for CORTIS already cleared the first hurdle; the next 90 days of touring will show whether the platform numbers convert to ticket demand at the same rate.
