CORTIS Opens First World Tour in Toronto with All 14 Shows Already Sold Out
CORTIS launched the North American leg of their debut world tour in Toronto on August 4, kicking off a six-city run that will carry them through to August 16. All 14 performances across Korea, North America, and Japan sold out well in advance, a notable milestone for a group approaching its first anniversary.

CORTIS launched their debut world tour in Toronto on August 4, opening the North American leg of 2026 CORTIS Tour 'Put Your Phone Down' to a sold-out crowd. Every one of the 14 scheduled performances across nine cities in Korea, North America, and Japan had already sold out before the tour began.

The group, signed to Big Hit Music under HYBE, is making its first extended run outside Korea. From Toronto they move through New York, Atlanta, Irving, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, with the North American schedule wrapping on August 16. The world tour had begun last month in Incheon.
The tour's name carries a deliberate message: rather than watching through a screen, audiences are being asked to be present for the energy in the room. It is a straightforward idea, and given what CORTIS demonstrated at Lollapalooza Chicago earlier this summer, there is reason to think it lands. The group drew roughly 50,000 attendees at the festival, which is not a number that comes with a qualifier.
After the North American dates, CORTIS returns to Seoul to mark their first anniversary with performances on August 22 and 23 at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium. The Japan leg follows, with three shows at Kanagawa's PIA Arena MM from September 4 to 6.
The calendar extends beyond the tour itself. CORTIS is scheduled to appear at Rock in Japan Festival 2026 on September 20, then at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix on October 9, two large-scale international stages that suggest the group's management is building toward something broader than a single touring cycle.

Elsewhere in K-pop news, two other stories are worth noting. The seven-member girl group OurBirthday is set to debut on August 19 with their first single, Our Birthday. The group comes from INIT Entertainment, a subsidiary of JYP Entertainment, and its lineup includes Cho Hyejin, Baby, Achiraya, Guk Chorok, Shin Hyewon, Yu, and Kirara. The team's name reflects an intention to treat ordinary days with the same energy as a celebration.

Kiras, meanwhile, completed a showcase in Kuala Lumpur on August 3 and 4 as part of a global artist development project organized by Singapore-based Fast Track Entertainment and Sony Music Malaysia. The group performed in front of media, industry figures, and fans at the Fast Track Entertainment Launchpad event.
