CORTIS Drops Expanded Mini Album on Their 1st Anniversary: With 2 Songs Fans Heard Live First

CORTIS celebrated their first debut anniversary with a one-two move: a sold-out birthday concert in Seoul where they performed two unreleased tracks live for the first time, followed immediately by the release of 'GREENGREEN_playextended', an eight-track expanded edition of their second mini album. All members contributed to writing and composing the two new additions, which the group describes as the most honest representation of who CORTIS are right now.

CORTIS gave fans at their sold-out Seoul birthday concert a preview they weren't expecting: two brand-new songs performed live on stage, hours before the tracks officially existed anywhere online. The next day, at midnight on the 24th, Big Hit Music released GREENGREEN_playextended, the expanded edition of the group's second mini album, making both songs available to everyone.

The new release builds on the original GREENGREEN mini album by adding two tracks: 'PACK IT UP' and 'MONEYMONEYMONEY'. That brings the total to eight songs. According to Big Hit Music, both additions were recorded during the GREENGREEN sessions but didn't make the original cut, they were held back, not abandoned. The label describes them as the tracks that best capture "the current CORTIS," with every member involved in writing and composing. The sound leans into everyday experience and what the label calls a raw, unfiltered quality, a deliberate contrast to the polished finish that EP title tracks usually carry.

The concert where the songs debuted, '2026 CORTIS Tour 'PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN' BIRTHDAY PARTY', ran across two nights at Korea University's Hwajung Gymnasium in Seoul's Seongbuk district. The venue is the same one where CORTIS held their debut album release party in September last year, which makes the return feel pointed: same room, one year later, completely different scale. Both nights sold out entirely during the fan club pre-sale window, and the shows were also streamed live through Weverse for fans outside the venue.

The members set the tone ahead of the performances through a statement released via Big Hit Music: "Since it's a first-anniversary birthday party, we're going to put in 300% energy and put on a stage we won't regret." The live premiere of 'PACK IT UP' and 'MONEYMONEYMONEY' on the concert's first night landed exactly that way, the crowd response reportedly drove the kind of energy that made the midnight album drop feel like a natural continuation of the night rather than a separate event.

The anniversary also arrives at a moment of sustained momentum. GREENGREEN's title track 'REDRED' has held the top spot on Spotify Korea's Weekly Top Songs chart for 17 consecutive weeks, a run that speaks to how well the group has converted a strong debut into lasting listener habits. CORTIS is currently mid-tour, with a total of 14 shows across 9 cities including stops in Incheon and North America as part of the 'PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN' run.

For a group barely a year into their career, the expanded album feels like both a gift and a statement, two songs that didn't fit the first version of GREENGREEN now arriving precisely when the group has the audience to receive them properly.
