BIGBANG's G-Dragon Called Out His Own Pronunciation, Then Spent 10 Minutes Complaining About a Voice Impression of Him

On a YouTube variety show released on the 22nd, BIGBANG's G-Dragon revealed he has never used mobile banking in his life, leaving host Yoo Jae-suk visibly stunned. The episode also caught G-Dragon going on a genuinely aggrieved rant about a viral voice impression of him, a clip he admitted was funny enough to watch on loop in his bathroom, but too accurate to hit 'like' on.

BIGBANG's G-Dragon sat down with host Yoo Jae-suk on the 22nd for a YouTube variety episode that quickly became one of the group's most entertaining off-stage moments in recent memory, landing everything from wealth management confessions to a ten-minute grievance about a YouTuber's voice impression.

The mobile banking moment arrived early. Yoo Jae-suk was already ribbing co-host HaHa about falling behind on technology when HaHa turned and asked whether anyone could actually handle bank business on a phone. Yoo Jae-suk said yes. G-Dragon, sitting beside him, quietly said no. The host's double-take was immediate: "If you can't do your banking, what happens to all that money?" G-Dragon's answer was perfectly matter-of-fact. "There's someone who manages it for me." Yoo Jae-suk told him he still needed to keep an eye on things himself, and G-Dragon clarified that he can visit a branch in person just fine, it's the app-based side of things he simply doesn't do.

The contrast with his groupmates was immediate. Daesung said he'd been managing his own finances since he was young. Taeyang added that he had let it go for a couple of years after debut before deciding he ought to understand it himself, and learned the ropes around two or three years in. Three members, three completely different relationships with their own bank accounts.

The second half of the episode belonged entirely to G-Dragon's complicated feelings about a viral video. A YouTuber had produced an impression reel of around fifteen to twenty celebrities all delivering the trending phrase "Geoje Yaho" in their respective vocal styles. G-Dragon was number three in the lineup, gone in a fraction of a second. That brevity was the problem. "Everyone else sounds like how you'd expect them to sound," he said. "Mine is too short, too fast. And being number three is annoying on top of everything else."

What made the segment genuinely funny was the detail that G-Dragon had already spent considerable time with the clip before filming. Daesung confirmed he'd been doing it around the house for a while. Taeyang recalled arriving at the studio one day to find G-Dragon wearing the most baffled expression imaginable, phone outstretched, asking: "Am I actually like this?" G-Dragon's own account of sitting alone in his bathroom, listening to the impression on repeat and laughing while simultaneously feeling wronged, was the moment the studio completely lost it.

He did attempt the phrase himself on camera, pointing out that his actual pronunciation was reasonable and nothing like what the impression suggested. Taeyang's theory: the YouTuber built the whole video around doing G-Dragon and filled in the other celebrities around him. G-Dragon found that almost more offensive. "If you're going to do me," he said, "at least give me more than half a second."

HaHa eventually pulled the video up on his phone during the recording. He listened to the G-Dragon section, stood up laughing, and walked away from his seat. The impression, it seemed, held up. G-Dragon confessed that he couldn't bring himself to hit the like button, which for him is a significant statement. He's well known for liberally liking content on social media, fan posts, creative work, a wide range of things that catch his attention. The fact that this particular video stumped him was not lost on Yoo Jae-suk, who found it just as remarkable as the banking confession.

Also during the episode, recorded separately for Epik High's YouTube channel, the group touched on BIGBANG member Daesung's famously guarded personality. Tablo noted that Daesung is hard to get close to. G-Dragon's response was simple: "Give up. I haven't known him that long myself." Taeyang said he only really understood Daesung during their shared military service, pointing out that the group could talk for hours without Daesung ever offering much about himself. Daesung, when pressed, was direct about it: he dislikes boasting, he doesn't want to invite envy, and he stays off social media precisely because he has no interest in sharing his life with an audience. It is a worldview so opposite to G-Dragon's that the two of them somehow make the most sense together.

The episodes aired as BIGBANG marked their 20th debut anniversary, having released the new single BiiiG on the 19th and launched a world tour concert run at Goyang Stadium starting the 21st.
