G-Dragon Recalls Being 'Completely Frozen' on You Quiz After Drug Probe Cleared
G-Dragon appeared on the YouTube web variety show Pinggye-go alongside BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung, revisiting the nerve-shredding You Quiz on the Block appearance that marked his return to TV after a seven-year absence. He described his body locking up with tension, while Daesung revealed that the intense public scrutiny of GD's speech and gestures during that broadcast made the experience even harder to process.

G-Dragon described it physically: his neck and shoulders seizing up, his posture going rigid, the kind of full-body tension that settles in when seven years of silence suddenly ends under studio lights. That was the image he re-enacted on Pinggye-go, the YouTube web variety show released on the 22nd through the channel Ddunddeun, when host Yoo Jae-suk brought up GD's appearance on tvN's You Quiz on the Block.

"It was almost like my first broadcast in seven years, so I think I was just like this the whole time," G-Dragon said, hunching his shoulders and stiffening his neck to demonstrate. Yoo Jae-suk, who has known GD for years, said the memory has stayed with him: "I've known G-Dragon for quite a long time, but I can't forget the G-Dragon I saw on You Quiz."

What made that appearance so charged
The You Quiz episode carried weight that went beyond a typical comeback interview. G-Dragon had been booked for investigation on drug use charges in November 2023, but tested negative and was cleared without indictment by December of that year. When he finally stepped back into public view after that ordeal, every word and gesture became its own event.

Online reactions at the time picked up on what viewers described as a shift in his manner of speaking and movement, with some saying he seemed different from before. Daesung, sitting beside him on Pinggye-go, addressed that directly: "People had a lot to say about your gestures and the way you spoke back then. You must have felt even more diminished because of it." His voice carried the kind of quiet frustration that comes from watching someone you care about get scrutinized in real time.
G-Dragon had been candid about his mental state during the You Quiz sit-down itself, describing a feeling of being "cornered" with no way forward, and the fear that prolonged psychological exhaustion could lead somewhere dangerous. He said he forced himself to hold onto his center, however artificially, just to keep moving.

The rest of the Pinggye-go conversation
The episode covered lighter ground too. G-Dragon revealed that he is, by his own account, the biggest sleeper among BIGBANG's members, twelve hours as a baseline, no interruptions, and on at least one occasion, two to three days straight during a concert tour when his staff reportedly came in just to check that he was still breathing. He also says jet lag simply doesn't affect him, because his solution is to sleep through the flight and wake up at the destination.

Taeyang disclosed that during their military service, their shared barracks included actor Ju Won, rapper Beenzino, and another acquaintance named Gyeongpyo. Having that many collaborators in one room meant there was never a shortage of things to talk about, except that Daesung would fall asleep the moment lights went out, leaving the others feeling, as Taeyang put it, "a little hurt."
There were smaller moments too: Haha mentioned that his last encounter with GD before this felt like their first since the Infinite Challenge 10th anniversary, and Yoo Jae-suk revealed that GD had gifted him a pair of sneakers from a brand collaboration. He wore them exactly once, indoors, walking carefully, and made sure to mention where they came from to anyone watching.
By the end of the episode, Yoo Jae-suk steered the mood somewhere warmer, noting that POWER, GD's solo release after his long hiatus, had landed with real impact. It was a quiet acknowledgment that the frozen shoulders and the online commentary and the courtroom shadow have, at least for now, given way to something that looks a lot like a second chapter.
