GOT7's Youngjae Wins Unpaid Fee Dispute With Musical Producer: Six Months Later

Art One Company says the money is now paid. Whether the timeline inspires confidence is a different question.

The production company behind the musical Dream High Season 2 issued an official statement on August 3 confirming it has "completed all payment settlement" for GOT7's Youngjae's appearance fees. According to the statement, both parties went through "mutual confirmation and consultation" before finalizing the amount.

The backstory: Dream High Season 2 wrapped its run in July 2024. Youngjae, who starred in the production, said he never received his fee. He waited roughly six months before filing legal action against Art One Company in January 2025. The timing is suspicious in the way these things usually are, a production company that needed a lawsuit to start the conversation about what it already owed.

Art One Company says it didn't stop at Youngjae. The statement claims the company conducted a full audit of unpaid fees for every actor, dancer, and staff member who worked on the show. For verified cases, payments have either been completed or are currently being processed. The company added that any missed or individually flagged cases will be reviewed and settled "responsibly."

That last word is doing a lot of work in a sentence about money that was already late.

Youngjae, who has been building a solo career alongside his GOT7 activities, has not yet issued a public response to Art One Company's statement.
