ITZY's Chaeryeong will release her first solo mini album, Lovesick, on November 9 at 6 p.m. KST, JYP Entertainment announced on the 19th. It comes seven years after the group's debut and makes her the third ITZY member to go solo.

JYP posted the album's trailer, tracklist and a schedule of upcoming teasers to social media on the 19th. The trailer shows Chaeryeong as someone indifferent to everything around her who, for the first time, takes an interest in one particular thing and falls for it. The framing fits the album title.

Four tracks, one lyric credit

Lovesick has four songs: the title track of the same name, "Moonlit Club," "Scent" and "Favorite Reason." Chaeryeong took part in writing the lyrics to "Favorite Reason."

The schedule lists music video photos and teasers, plus album spoilers, to be released in sequence ahead of the date. On release day itself, she will host a countdown live broadcast at 5 p.m. KST, an hour before the album drops, to talk with fans directly.

Following Yeji and Yuna

Yeji and Yuna have each already put out solo albums, and each showed a distinct personality. JYP said Chaeryeong is "taking the baton from Yeji and Yuna" and "will show her true colors as an artist."

The numbers to watch are first-week sales and the album's early chart placement, since those will show how much of ITZY's fandom follows a member to a solo project. A four-track mini album with a countdown live the hour before release is a compact, low-risk format, and I would expect JYP to lean on the teaser calendar to build momentum over the next three weeks. Circle November 9.
