Jang Dong-yoon Marries Kim Seung-yoon, 7 Years After Their Drama Meet
Actors Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon married on October 10 in a private ceremony attended only by family. The couple met on the 2019 KBS drama Joseon Romantic Comedy and later worked together on short films Jang directed.

Actors Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon were married on October 10 in a private ceremony, with only immediate family and close relatives in attendance. The couple announced the wedding themselves that morning by posting wedding photos to their individual social media accounts, images that leaned into a vintage, naturalistic aesthetic rather than the polished studio look common to celebrity announcements.
The captions they chose were deliberately paired. Kim Seung-yoon wrote "My Love · My Life · My Home," and Jang Dong-yoon answered with "My Love · My Muse · My Home," the single substituted word carrying considerable weight given the creative relationship that brought them together. The photos showed the two in a setting of aged timber interiors and garden greenery, Jang in a classic black tuxedo and Kim in a white lace dress with floral hair styling, the whole presentation closer in feeling to a film still than a traditional wedding portrait.

How a drama became something more
Their connection goes back to the 2019 KBS 2TV romantic comedy Joseon Romantic Comedy: Nokdu Flower, where they worked alongside each other for the first time. What developed afterward was less a conventional celebrity romance than a sustained creative partnership. Jang, who has moved into directing alongside his acting career, cast Kim in two of his short films: Be My Ears and Nuruk. Working repeatedly as director and lead actress appears to have deepened a trust that eventually extended beyond the set.
Jang Dong-yoon debuted in 2016 through the web drama Game Company Female Employees and has since built a steady television presence through dramas including Dance Sports Girls, Oasis, Midnight in the Psychiatric Ward, and Even Flowers Bloom in Sand. Kim Seung-yoon debuted with Joseon Romantic Comedy: Nokdu Flower and has since worked primarily in independent film.

A family double occasion
The wedding arrives alongside related news from within the same family. Kim Seung-yoon's younger sister, actress Cha Kyung-eun (born Kim Kyung-eun), announced on the same occasion that she is expecting a child and will marry actor Lee Yu-jin on November 14. The two sisters share a notable parallel: both are actresses, and both formed their relationships with their respective partners through their partners' own creative projects. Whether by coincidence or temperament, it is the kind of pattern that tends to say something about how close-knit the independent film world in Korea can be.
