Running Man's Yoo Jae-suk Reveals His 10 PM Bedtime Secret: 'I Fall Asleep Putting My Daughter to Bed'

Yoo Jae-suk, South Korea's most recognizable variety show host, is apparently in bed by 10 PM every night, and his Running Man castmates had plenty to say about it.

The moment came during the episode that aired on the 19th, when the SBS program ran a segment called the 'Commute Yaho' race, where members competed to set the call time for their next filming day. When a clock displaying 5:30 AM appeared on screen, the cast reacted with collective horror.

"Is this an early morning prayer service?" one member deadpanned. "They're basically telling us not to sleep," said another. Yoo recalled a similar situation back in 2022 when a 7 AM call time had the team watching the sunrise together. "That was winter, and 7 AM already felt early," he said. "5:30 is something else entirely."

The real revelation came when Ji Seok-jin turned to Yoo and asked whether 5:30 AM was simply his normal wake-up time. Yoo set the record straight immediately. "I wake up at 6," he said. "I'm in bed by 10 PM."

Haha, never one to let a good moment pass, immediately shared more. "What's wild about this guy," Haha said, gesturing at Yoo, "is that he falls asleep before his daughter does, while he's putting her to bed." Yoo did not deny it. "Eight hours of sleep feels incredible," he said, sounding entirely unbothered by the laughter around him. Kim Jong-kook, who listened to the exchange, shook his head in admiration at the sheer discipline of it.

The segment then shifted into actual competition. Song Ji-hyo grabbed the prize vending machine first, hoping to win rewards rather than gamble on the schedule. Ji Seok-jin followed her lead. Haha went straight for the time vending machine, invoking the universal experience of exhausted parents: "If you're raising kids, you know, time is gold." Ji Ye-eun also chose the time machine, openly admitting she was trying to counter whatever Yoo was about to pull.

Yoo, who had been lobbying for a start time no earlier than 8 AM, picked the time machine too, and made clear he wanted to punish the members who had ignored his input earlier. The threat landed with the right comedic weight.

The results, however, did not go according to anyone's plan. Haha drew minus two hours, Ji Ye-eun drew plus one hour, and Yoo pulled minus five, the most dramatic shift of the lot. Once every result was tallied, the next filming call time landed at 8:30 AM: not the pre-dawn punishment Yoo had threatened, not the comfortable afternoon slot others had hoped for, but a reasonable compromise that satisfied almost no one completely.

Ji Seok-jin summed up the dissenting view: "I would have preferred 1:30 PM." Yoo and Haha, both apparently wired for mornings, welcomed the outcome warmly, a reaction that only made the rest of the cast groan louder.
