G-DRAGON's Label Just Signed a Hallyu Veteran and Has AI Content Plans for Him
Actor Jung Il-woo has signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, the agency home to G-DRAGON, Song Kang-ho, and SHINee's Taemin. The label says it plans to expand his work into AI-based content, a global fan platform, and brand partnerships.

Actor Jung Il-woo has signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, the agency behind G-DRAGON, and the label is already talking about AI.
Galaxy Corporation confirmed the signing on July 29, describing Jung Il-woo as "a globally competitive IP" and a Hallyu actor with a long-standing fanbase across Asia. CEO Choi Yong-ho said the company plans to build "a new global entertainment model" around him, combining content, technology, and brand business. Specifically, that means AI-based content, a global fan platform, and brand collaborations. For an actor-focused signing, that's an unusually tech-forward pitch.

Galaxy Corporation's current roster makes the move look like a deliberate prestige play. The agency also represents G-DRAGON, Academy Award-winning actor Song Kang-ho, SHINee's Taemin, singer and TV personality Kim Jong-kook, actor Ryu Jun-yeol, and MLB outfielder Lee Jung-hoo. Jung Il-woo fits the pattern: established, multi-market, with name recognition that travels.
Jung Il-woo debuted in 2006 on the MBC sitcom High Kick Without Mercy and built his profile through a string of popular dramas including The Moon That Embraces the Sun, Night Watchman's Journal, and Cinderella and the Four Knights. Most recently, he appeared in Criminal, a Japanese-language Amazon Prime Video series released globally on July 17.

Separately, streaming platform Wavve announced that The Community 2: The Invisible Hand, the second season of its social experiment survival show Ideology Inspection Zone: The Community, will premiere in September. Season 1, released in 2024, put participants with clashing values on politics, gender, and religion together to simulate power dynamics and coalition-building. Season 2 shifts the premise: participants hold different resources and must trade and negotiate for survival and prize money. The production team promises "unpredictable developments driven by human desire and choice." The timing is suspicious only in how cleanly it follows Season 1's format pivot, less ideology clash, more naked bargaining.
