OMONAR

Rookie girl group KIIRAS wrapped a two-day run at Reeperbahn Festival 2026 in Hamburg on September 17 and 18, becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at one of Europe's most industry-credentialed showcase events, and the only idol act on the entire 2026 lineup.

The appearance was arranged through Korea Spotlight, a government-backed overseas showcase program run by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). That program has sent Korean acts to international markets before, but KIIRAS marks its first K-pop girl group placement at Reeperbahn, a Hamburg festival that draws artists and music industry professionals from across Europe and beyond.

What they performed

Across their two-day schedule, the group ran through a set built around their debut track KILL MA BO$$ and follow-up singles BANG BANG! and TA TA, keeping the energy high with what local attendees described as a powerful, physically committed performance and steady live vocals. KIIRAS also addressed the Hamburg crowd in German between songs, a detail that landed well with an audience not necessarily arriving as K-pop fans.

Reeperbahn is not a fan convention. It is a trade-facing festival where a convincing showcase to industry gatekeepers carries more weight than a sold-out crowd of converted followers. Performing there as an unknown rookie group, in a second language, without an existing European fanbase, is a reasonable stress test. KIIRAS appears to have passed it.

Cultural programming beyond the stage

The day after their final performance, the group dressed in hanbok and toured Hamburg landmarks, engaging with locals directly. The timing aligned with Chuseok, the Korean autumn harvest holiday, and the members demonstrated traditional Korean games including ddakji (a paper-flipping game) and jegi (a shuttlecock kicking game) for passersby. The multinational lineup, with members from Korea, Japan, and Malaysia, gave the cultural outreach a different texture than a purely Korean act might have managed.

German outlets covered both the festival performance and the cultural day, with several profiling the group's trajectory from debut to their current status as a rising act with international ambitions. The coverage is a concrete early indicator: German entertainment media does not routinely chase rookie K-pop groups, and the fact that multiple outlets ran features, not just event listings, suggests KIIRAS made an impression beyond the stage.

What comes next

KIIRAS is currently in preparation for a new album. No release date has been confirmed, but the Reeperbahn run gives them a documented European footprint to build on. A group that earns press in Hamburg on its first overseas showcase, before a major label world tour announcement and before the new album lands, is working from a stronger baseline than most rookies get. Circle the date when that album drops; early returns from Hamburg are the kind the agency can actually use.
