CRAVITY Drop sonorous Concept Film Ahead of Sept. 30 Mini Album

CRAVITY have been building toward something with this one. On the 18th, Starship Entertainment dropped the Echo version concept film for the group's ninth mini album, sonorous, on official social channels, and the imagery landed exactly as the album's central theme of resonance would suggest: mysterious, a little dreamlike, and very deliberate.

The film places the nine members in a clean white space surrounded by symbolic objects: a clock, a swing, a glass. Each one connects to the idea of resonance, vibrations that meet, overlap, and amplify. The members are shown both witnessing and creating these resonance moments, and the visual language is careful enough to feel like it's doing conceptual work rather than just looking good. What catches attention near the end is an empty space left among the members, a gap that reads as a direct invitation to whoever is watching.

What sonorous is actually about

The album's core concept is gongmyung (공명), the Korean word for resonance, specifically, the idea that when different sound waves collide and layer, they produce something larger than any single wave could alone. For CRAVITY, that translates into nine members bringing nine distinct sounds together into one collective vibration.

The Echo concept photos, released on the 16th and 17th, visualized the same idea: instruments, spiral objects, and a swing arranged against the white backdrop, with the members styled in a way that emphasized both individual presence and group unity. Shared moments, listening to music together, two members wearing the same oversized knit, carried the psychological dimension of the theme without overstating it.

Seven tracks, written mostly by the members

sonorous carries seven tracks total, and member involvement is the story here. The title track LOUDER was co-written by five members, Wonjin, Allen, Serim, Hyeongjun, and Taeyoung. Beyond that, Serim contributed a self-composed track called LOVE ME, Woobin brought Fantasy, and Taeyoung added Odd One Out. That's four tracks with direct member composition credits on a seven-song album, which is a meaningful shift for a group now in their ninth mini.

The ambition in that track list is worth noting: CRAVITY aren't just playing to a concept, they're writing it from the inside. The goal, as framed by Starship, is for the album's range of emotional textures and temperatures to resolve into a single unified resonance, something that moves a listener rather than just impressing them.

What comes after the album

The full release of sonorous and title track LOUDER lands on the 30th across major streaming platforms. Following the comeback, CRAVITY are set to perform at a standalone concert also titled SONOROUS in both Seoul and Busan in November, making the album and the live show part of one continuous statement rather than separate events.

For a group working through their ninth mini, that kind of synchronized rollout signals confidence. The concept film already did its job: it left a seat open.
