KIK Teams Up With 100M-Stream Australian Artist will hyde on New Single ROAD

Korean band KIK dropped their new digital single ROAD on the 31st, and it arrives with a collaborator who carries real international weight: Australian singer-songwriter will hyde, a musician with over 100 million cumulative streams to his name.

ROAD layers will hyde's vocals over KIK's characteristically dynamic band sound. Thematically, the song explores a connection that persists across distance and time, a fitting concept for a track that is itself the product of a cross-continental partnership.

Building a global roster

This is not KIK's first collab with an act from outside Korea. Earlier this year, the band released piece of peace with Thai band Dept, and ROAD suggests they are treating international collaboration as a deliberate creative strategy rather than a one-off. In just their first year as a group, they have now worked with artists from two different countries, and will hyde's streaming footprint gives the new single a meaningful platform.

Eurovision Asia and what comes next

Beyond the single, KIK is also building toward a significant live moment. The band has been named to the candidate lineup for the Korean national selection of Eurovision Song Contest Asia, the continent's answer to the beloved European competition. At the selection showcase, they performed an unreleased track called F1, which has been generating quiet anticipation among fans who caught it.

The Korean national final airs on September 4 at 11 p.m. KST on ENA, a primetime broadcast slot that underlines just how seriously the competition is being treated.

One added layer for existing fans: KIK member Wooseok is simultaneously active with PENTAGON as the group marks their 10th anniversary, making this a particularly full stretch for him specifically. For a band that only just celebrated their own first anniversary, KIK is moving at a pace that is hard to ignore.
