Host Calls Out Kim Woo-bin for Gazing at Shin Min-a During Her Presenter Speech

Kim Woo-bin was trying his best to look composed, but the moment Shin Min-a walked out onto the Blue Dragon Series Awards stage, it was over. His expression softened into something unmistakably fond, and host Jeon Hyun-moo spotted it almost immediately: "One person is staring way too hard," he announced to the room, to knowing laughter.

The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards took place on July 31 at Paradise City in Incheon, broadcast live on KBS2 and streamed online via Chzzk. Jeon Hyun-moo and actress YoonA co-hosted the evening, which brought together nominees and presenters from across the year's biggest streaming and broadcast dramas. Kim Woo-bin attended as a best actor nominee for his performance in All Will Be Fulfilled, while Shin Min-a appeared on stage as the presenter for the grand prize.

Before Hyun-moo's gentle roast, there was already a small scene in the audience. Lee Kwang-soo, a close friend of Woo-bin's, let out a loud cheer the instant Min-a appeared. Woo-bin, visibly embarrassed, gave Kwang-soo a light shove on the shoulder, but couldn't quite suppress the grin that followed.

On stage, Shin Min-a composed herself with the kind of warmth that felt personal. "I'm truly honored to be presenting the grand prize," she said. "I've been preparing a new project lately, so being here tonight feels especially meaningful." She went on to briefly introduce her upcoming Disney+ series The Empress, which is set to release soon. She also reflected on what the grand prize represents: "Everyone looks perfect in front of a camera, but behind the scenes they've probably fallen apart and pulled themselves back together more times than anyone knows. The people in this room have endured that process. The grand prize, I think, goes to whoever held onto viewers' hearts the longest over the course of a year."

The camera kept finding its way back to Woo-bin throughout her speech, and the footage of his quiet, smiling attention became one of the night's more talked-about moments, a small, real thing in the middle of an awards broadcast.

Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a married in December, capping a relationship of more than ten years. Seeing them share a stage, even accidentally and on opposite sides of the presenter's podium, clearly landed for fans watching both in the room and at home.
