Lee Chae-min and Noh Yoon-seo Are Reuniting 3 Years After 'Crash Course in Romance', for a Time-Loop Romance

Lee Chae-min and Noh Yoon-seo last shared a screen in tvN's Crash Course in Romance back in 2023. Three years later, they're doing it again on the same network, and this time the stakes are considerably higher than tutoring scandals.

tvN confirmed on July 29 that the two will lead The Reason I Decided to Die (내가 죽기로 결심한 것은), a new drama adapted from the webtoon of the same name, set to broadcast in 2026.

The show is a time-loop romance. Lee Chae-min plays Cha Gyeol, a man who loves a woman so much he keeps dying and resetting time to save her. Noh Yoon-seo plays Nam Ji-o, a taekwondo prodigy chasing an Olympic gold medal, who ends up fighting fate to protect him in return. The premise is familiar genre territory, but the webtoon source has a following, and the casting is doing a lot of the early work here.

The reunion angle is real: in Crash Course in Romance, the two played friends who became lovers, and it landed well with audiences. Bringing them back as a romantic pair is not a subtle move by tvN. Fans who remember their chemistry from that show will already be curious.

The creative team behind the drama is worth paying attention to. Screenwriter Kim Sol-ji wrote tvN's Bargain Mart and ENA's Freezing Cold Romance, both comedies with a sharp edge. The directing is split between Choi Jung-gyu (The Crown Prince of the East on Netflix, The Devil Judge on tvN) and Kim Hee-won, whose resume includes Vincenzo, Little Women, and Queen of Tears, three of the more talked-about tvN productions of recent years. Choi Jung-gyu previously worked with Noh Yoon-seo on The Crown Prince of the East, so this is their second collaboration as well.

No premiere date has been set beyond the 2026 window.
