After a Non-Compete Ban, Lee Soo-man's A2O Launches Two Groups at Once
A2O Entertainment's boy group A2O SOUL and girl group A2O LITE will debut simultaneously on October 12 with a live showcase on M2 and Mnet Plus. Digital singles follow on the 13th.

Lee Soo-man's A2O Entertainment is making its Korean debut move, and it is doing so with both hands at once. On the 8th, the company opened official social media channels for two acts simultaneously: boy group A2O SOUL and girl group A2O LITE, with a shared debut showcase confirmed for the 12th.
The timing is not accidental. A non-compete clause from Lee Soo-man's exit from SM Entertainment had previously blocked a domestic Korean launch. A Chinese-market group debuted in the interim while the restriction remained in force. Now that it has expired, A2O SOUL and A2O LITE represent the main event: the acts the label built to promote in Korea from the start.

The debut show and what comes after
The showcase is titled WELCOME TO SOULITE From A2O SOUL A2O LITE and will air on M2 and Mnet Plus on the 12th. It is billed as the moment the shared lore connecting the two groups is revealed: teasers have hinted at an interlocking fictional universe, though its details are being held until the broadcast. A2O SOUL's debut single is called SUPERSTAR, while A2O LITE leads with NEON. Both digital singles drop on the 13th.
Pre-debut content already on the official channels includes a mood film teaser for A2O SOUL and individual trailer clips for each A2O LITE member. Early reaction online to the girl group member profiles has been largely positive, with viewers noting the lineup is entirely new trainees, separate from the China-market group that came before.

The creative team behind the project
Lee Soo-man is credited as Key Producer and Visionary Leader on the project, a framing that positions him as the strategic and creative anchor rather than a conventional CEO. Producer Yoo Young-jin, a longtime collaborator from the SM era responsible for some of that label's most recognizable sounds, is also involved, handling music and performance production for both groups. The pairing suggests A2O is leaning on proven infrastructure rather than reinventing its creative approach.

The debut math here is tight. Two groups, one showcase, consecutive single release dates, and a connected-universe rollout all signal that A2O intends to build cross-group fandom from day one rather than develop each act in isolation. Whether the shared lore holds together as a long-term asset or collapses into promotional noise is the first real question the 12th will answer. Circle the date.
